Shift into high gear! On this retreat in the picturesque town of Fairhope, Alabama, you will practice shifting from a place of limiting beliefs into a place of personal power. You will essentially uncover where in your lives you may have come from a place of victimhood, abandonment, rejection, and / or feelings of low self-worth. You will transform how these behaviors have woven their way like a tapestry through your lives, often sabotaging your true intentions or your ability to live the life you say you have desired.

On this retreat, you will be staying in a large family home overlooking Mobile Bay with spectacular sunsets based on sharing basis. The request for a private room is available, but very limited. You can sit on the outdoor front patio under the old Live Oak trees. There is a 100 feet area on the bay with a large manicured front and backyard as well as a wonderful outdoor seating area for your adventure to unfold.
What does it mean to “shift into high gear"? It has nothing to do with riding a bicycle. However, there are similarities to the feeling you get when the road ahead is clear, the wind is in your hair, and you let go of the handlebars without any fear. Shifting into high gear means you reconnect with your knowing. There is a knowing inside of you that you are all you ever need to be a whole, healthy, happy person. It means that you can give yourself permission to stop searching outside of yourself for that elusive happiness.
You can stop filling yourself up with things that you think make you happy when really and truly, these things often just offer fleeting moments of joy. You are riding that bike without hands at full speed with the wind in your hair and at no time will squirrels, a rock or a Mack truck get in your way. When you shift into high gear, you are essentially standing naked in the sunshine in the middle of the roadway, feet on either side of the staggered yellow line with your hands outstretched toward the sky.
You are strong in your power. You understand where you have been operating from for most, if not all of your lives, and you approach the world differently radiating out an energy that is virtually unstoppable. It is this powerful!
Resistance is the opposite of growth. So at this retreat, you will abstain from practicing meditation or traditional journaling, or using dowsing rods, pendulums, and other tool-intensive practices. For some of you, this may bring up resistance. Take a deep breath. Please know that you will work through it together.
Shifting Into High Gear feels it’s important to give up all of the so-called tools that have been used to feel good in order to authentically, strongly, and powerfully feel good about ourselves. You will work to recreate the feelings and support that these tools have essentially provided for you with the idea that if you do re-engage with them, you are coming from an entirely new place, a place of strength. You will be coming clean with whatever it is within you that you have been spiritually bypassing.
Tammy, Nikki, and the guest facilitator, Steve, will create a safe environment that allows you to feel open and vulnerable in your sharing. They will provide you with support, love, and at times push you to step into your resistance to fully experience your growth. You are truly all that you need to be a whole, healthy, happy person! On this retreat, Shifting Into High Gear will share some of the concepts covered in their best-selling book, "Shifting Into High Gear: A Guide To Listening To Your Body". They will hold space for you to listen to your body, eat when you are hungry, and sleep when you are tired.
In addition, of course, you will have a ton of fun because to be whole, healthy, happy people, you need to rattle those cells of a child within you. The Itinerary has been constructed out based on eating when hungry, sleeping when tired, and relieving yourself when called to do so.
Besides the yoga sessions, you will enjoy a sunset walk by the bay, a trip to the beach, and a guided tour in Fairhope. You will also spend a full day discovering the sights, sounds, and tastes of New Orleans on the third day of this retreat. You are responsible for your own lunch and supper on this day.
Tammy Price was raised in a home of limiting beliefs and the inside part of her was pushing against these beliefs like a growing volcano. The volcano began to show its presence during an argument with her then-fiancé in 1993. It took another decade after that epic volcanic eruption for the ash to cool and for some difficult decisions to be made and acted upon. That journey led her to where she's meant to be, working with others to build their internal strength.
Nikki Hopewell became a medical intuitive to learn how the energy directs our health. Because of this training, she's been able to touch people’s lives in ways she never dreamed possible. This is what drives this work that she is so passionate about, a work that was created for her, by her, and that really and truly reflects her. It allows her to serve with as much love and grace as possible. Her continuous learning helps her own growth, which means she's able to make space to help others grow and find their way back to themselves as well.
Steve Dengate is the guest facilitator in this retreat.
