Throughout this retreat, you will stay at Hotel Villa San Pio, Hotel Aganoor, B&B Sogna Firenze, and La Selva Association. The types of the room depends on the hotel.

Shakti Yoga Studio Italy Yoga Retreat Program

During this retreat, the practice of yoga will alternate with meditation and other holistic activities throughout the trip depending on the places. At the last part of the trip, in Positano, you will practice two classes everyday on a platform overlooking the wonderful Amalfi Coast. The past and the present will merge into a journey of discovering the genuine colors, scents, and flavors of each region with them offering their own typical dishes and production of wines, olive oils, cheeses, and other delicacies.

The idea of ​​this trip is to propose alternative options to the classic itineraries, so the choice of each place, each lodging, and each excursion has been designed carefully to offer an authentic and unique experience in each direction. You will get the chance to visit cities of art such as Rome and Firenze, Lake Trasimeno, the rolling hills of woods in the blue waters, and its Maggiore Island, the Amalfi Coast and the Island of Capri, with its caves and typical Mediterranean villages, and Tuscany, from the hot thermals in the forest to the production of the famous Montalcino wine. Last but not least you will get to Umbria's green heart, with its medieval and mystical countryside and boroughs of Trevi, Spello, and Corciano.

Day 1 - September 27, 2017

  • Arrival at Rome's Fiumicino - Leonardo da Vinci International Airport (FCO)
  • Free afternoon to rest from the trip or walk around

Day 2 - September 28, 2017

  • Yoga practice
  • Breakfast at the hotel's garden
  • Imperial Rome guided tour where you will visit the sites of the Roman Empire, including the Colosseum, Fori Romani, Arch of Constantine, and more
  • Lunch (not included)
  • Underground guided tour to discover underground churches, Roman's old houses, and secret and mystical places
  • Dinner in a typical restaurant in the hills of Rome, in the Castelli Romani area which is famous for their productions of wine and great gastronomy
  • Meditation

Day 3 - September 29, 2017

  • Guided visit to the Vatican, the museums, and the Sistine Chapel.

  • Monumental Rome guided visit, visiting the famous Navona and Spagna Squares, the Trevi Fountain, and the places of the power and its monuments
  • Apericena in Trastevere which is known for its art, restaurants, pubs, and magical atmosphere, especially at night

Day 4 - September 30, 2017

  • Yoga practice

  • Departure by private transport to Lake Trasimeno
  • Leaving the region of Lazio, you will travel through Umbria, the Italian rich in art and mystical culture
  • Visiting land of San Francisco de Assis
  • Visiting the medieval boroughs of Trevi, Spello and Corciano, some of the most beautiful villages in Italy
  • Lunch at a typical restaurant in Corciano (not included)
  • You will reach Umbria which has a green heart and a blue lake, Lake Trasimeno, a natural park populated by wild ducks and cormorant, situated in an environment with gentle slopes, forested hills, vineyards, and olive trees plantations
  • Afterwards, you will continue the route that runs passing the lake until arriving at Castiglione del Lago
  • Check-in at Hotel Aganoor, a historical mansion from the 1700s in the center of the village
  • Typical dinner at the hotel

Day 5 - October 1, 2017

  • Yoga practice
  • Breakfast with lake view
  • Visiting the historical center, the fortress, and the Ducal Palace
  • Lunch (not included)
  • Boat trip to Maggiore Island, a green oasis in the lake, covered with olives, oak, pine, cypress, poplar, and other Mediterranean varieties
  • Free time to visit the almost uninhabited small village of the island and walk the trails
  • You will take advantage of a mindfulness meditation before returning to Castiglone
  • Dinner at a typical restaurant
  • Group meeting to share experiences

Day 6 - October 2, 2017

  • Breakfast overlooking the lake
  • Departure by private transport to Firenze, leaving Umbria and entering Tuscany, region of vineyards, olive trees, and Etruscan lands
  • First event of the day will be the Bagni San Filippo in Valdorcia, relaxing and enjoying the therapeutic waters in the hot springs in the middle of the forest, also with a holistic practice
  • The second event of the day will be visiting Montalcino, an old town where the famous Brunello red wine originated from, you will visit a local producer and do some tasting
  • Typical healthy lunch (not included)
  • Arrival in Firenze, one of the most beautiful and artistic cities in Italy, a city full of charm whose splendor of the past has kept unchanged, house of the best sculptors and painters of the Renaissance
  • Check in to B&B Sogna Firenze, surrounded with pieces of art in a familiar atmosphere

Day 7 - October 3, 2017

  • Guided tour at the historical center, visiting the Accademia museum which is the home of Michelangelo's David, the cathedral with the Brunelleschi's dome, and the Giotto's campanile

  • Guided visit to the Basilica of Santa Croce which is also the burial place of Galileo and Michelangelo, and the famous Church of Santa Maria Novella
  • Dinner at a typical restaurant

Day 8 - October 4, 2017

  • Guided tour at the Uffizi Gallery which is one of the most important art galleries in the world where you will be able to discover the masterpieces of Giotto, Leonardo da Vinci, and more
  • Stop at the famous Ponte Vecchio to admire the works of the artisans there

Day 9 - October 5, 2017

  • Heading to the train station to reach Napoli
  • Private transfer from Napoli to Positano, a beautiful village on the Amalfi Coast. Overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, the Amalfi Coast is one of the 50 places included by UNESCO as world heritage. The coast appears like a balcony suspended between the cobalt blue sea and the slopes of the Lattari Mountains, in a succession of valleys and promontories dotted with coves, beaches, and terraces cultivated with citrus, vines, and olive trees. Your luggage will go up by a funicular and you will take a nice walk of 20 minutes until arriving at the hotel, in the hills of Positano
  • Check in at La Selva Association Yoga Retreat and Organic Farm, an old country house, home of the Social Promotion Association, located on a hill between Olivos and Citrus, with rocky walls and natural terraces with wonderful views, reachable only by a path on foot between sea and hills
  • Free afternoon to explore the surroundings or to rest and enjoy the spectacular view of one of the most beautiful coasts in Italy

  • Boat trip to the Capri Island, one of the most beautiful and famous islands in Italy. Located at the Gulf of Naples, Capri has been a favorite seaside resort of Roman emperors, writers, and famous people. You will head to the Faragliones where it is said that Ulysses heard the mermaids sing, and you will enter the famous Blue Cave where you will be able to bathe in the turquoise waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea. The boat trip includes snacks, juices, and Prosecco

Silvia Broussard
Silvia is a yoga teacher with 15 years of experience. She is Anusara inspired and works in pranayama and meditation, Ashtanga, Kundalini, Yin, and yoga therapy. As a massage and holistic therapist, she focuses on cranio-sacral, deep tissue, aromatherapy, sound healing, emotional therapy, and Ho`Oponopono. She works with Chinese medicine's meridians and elements that she incorporates into yoga practice and massages. She loves to help others to bring harmony and joy into their life with intuition and compassion.

During this retreat, you will be served two daily meals including breakfast and dinner, where you will be able to taste the typical comfort food of each region with seasonal and organic products whenever possible. Generally, a healthy diet possibly without meat will be maintained.
