During this training, you will stay either in a shared or a private room at Bounty Resort. The bungalows overlook the beach with calming sea views in comfortable, modern surroundings. The aim of Samasthi Yoga School's TTC, is helping you to become a confident and good Hatha yoga teacher. The program is designed and sequenced starting from learning and practicing the asanas. You need to make a trip through your body and discover the sequence of movements and alignments. You will experience how your breath during the sequences is the real powerful and therapeutical tool which can help you to improve your practice.

Yoga is about understanding, so that is why Samasthi Yoga School wants to keep our TTC focused and simple, so that you really learn and experience. We don't want to blunt you, with a heavy programme full of amazing subjects, because the reality is that you need to truly focus on what is important, and you only have 27 days. Following the sequence of our programme is very important learning how to teach, gaining confidence, sequencing your classes, how to aligned, how to approach your students in a class and correct voice projection. It's not only about what you teach, but more about what you want to transfer to others. We want to help you to discover your own yoga and use your style and identity to teach others

The Hatha Yoga Teacher Training programme walks this track, for the first two weeks you will be focused on the practical teaching and alignment, learning Hatha yoga postures. In the TTC the anatomy and alignment are very important. The classes are inspired by the teachings of Leslie Kaminoff’s, author of “Yoga Anatomy”, the best and most comprehensive applied anatomy book to date. “During the theory classes, you will talk about the postures, what are their benefits, why they should be aligned, why breathing the asana is important and what’s the knowledge and philosophy that back up asanas. There are 80 hours of yoga practice, you will do, two practices a day of two hours each from Monday to Friday, and one practice on Saturday mornings.

Saturday afternoon and Sundays, you will take a rest so that you can get to know the island and have also some time to study. There will be 40 hours of practical teaching with the group, as well as clients that Samasthi Yoga School will invite for your yoga classes, where you will practice teaching and have a first-hand experience and feedback on how is your teaching style and especially picking up confidence as a teacher and identifying your style.

On your theory talks you will learn about Vedanta. A closer look at the word “Vedanta” is revealing. “Vedanta” is a combination of two words: “Veda,” which means “knowledge,” and “anta,” which means “the end of” or “the goal of.” In this context, the goal of knowledge isn’t intellectual, the limited knowledge you acquire by reading books. “Knowledge” here means the knowledge of God as well as the knowledge of the own divine nature. Vedanta, then, is the search for self-knowledge as well as the search for God. You will also talk about -Yamas, Niyamas, and how the chakra system works in the body. And bring all this to your actual world and how you may apply it in your modern lifestyle. It’s a kind of self-guide, which suggests a program of ethical restraints or abstentions (Yamas), lifestyle observances (Niyamas), postures (asanas), breath control (pranayama), withdrawal of the senses (pratyahara), concentration (dharana), meditation (dhyana), and absorption into the divine (samadhi).

They are designed to lead you, step-by-step, toward everlasting contentment. The yoga anatomy is based entirely on the book of "Yoga Anatomy by Leslie Kaminoff and Amy Matthews, you will be introduced in a very practical and understandable way, these 16 hours will be a practical guide to understand how the anatomy works when you practice yoga and understand the do's and not to do's.

Samasthi Yoga School can organize for you, Saturday afternoon and Sunday different activities ranging from: sub, kayak, diving, kite surfing, trekking, island hoping, adventure park. Some of this activities have an extra cost, but others don't. They will offer the group different options every weekend, and you can decide what to do. In any case they will organize everything for you.

  • Mercedes Abaitua

    Mercedes is a master yoga teacher in Dynamic and Hatha yoga with over 20 years of experience in the world of fitness and movement pedagogy. She was the pioneer in introducing aerobics, Pilates, and other fitness disciplines in Spain, after learning them in New York. She is specialized in Dynamic yoga, but her interest in yoga hassled her to form in other specializations, such as Bikram and Ashtanga yoga.

  • Robert Brown

    Robert is the Director and ambassador of Yoga Alliance International Thailand, Hatha Yoga Teacher, by the Asian Federation of Psycotherapy, Master Yoga Teacher of Transformational Yoga, by Srima School in Auroville, India. He has more than 700 hours of training. His practice and teachings are based in Hatha Yoga. He has 19 years of experience working as a facilitator and coach, and uses yoga with his corporate clients. Currently, he is developing his work from a more holistic perspective, integrating techniques and activities that allow him to reach more deeply into knowledge and truth.

  • Darina Samuel

    Darina is an international yoga teacher and trainer. For most of the year, you can connect with her on Koh Pha Ngan, Thailand, where she organizes Radiate Love one-on-one retreats and teaches in local yoga schools and centers, as well as yoga teacher trainings. Darina will open your hearts and touch your souls (as she does) with her Vinyasa Yin yoga style. Having trained with yoga rebel, Tara Stiles, Darina does a unique mix of traditional and new age yoga that will touch your heart.

  • Eleonora Trani

    Eleonora is a Hatha Yoga teacher and a passionate student and practitioner of Iyengar and Ashtanga Yoga. During the last few years, she have been studying yoga and vipassana (mindfulness) meditation techniques in Europe, UK, USA, India and Nepal with different masters. In 2014, she completed her training as a Pilates mat instructor, certified by Federación Española deTaichi y Pilates and by IPTCA (International Personal Trainers and Coaching Association), and her training as a WCS yoga teacher (yoga for women cancer survivors) with Amy Dara Hochberg.

This training will take place at the Bounty Resort in Ko Pha Ngan, Thailand. The resort is located at Haad Dao Deuk, a private beach and bay situated between Haad Son Bay and Haad Yao Beach. Haad Yao and Haad Son are just minutes walk away allowing guests the luxury of three superb beaches for the price of one.

All three beaches are great snorkeling sites with an offshore coral reef allowing excellent swimming. Bounty Resort is positioned on the cliff top just a few seconds walk down to the beach, a sandy idyllic cove that provides total privacy for the guests. There is no foot traffic from the other beaches and so guests can relax and enjoy the peace and quiet.

During this training, you will enjoy a daily vegetarian breakfast and dinner based in Thai cuisine. The kitchen at the resort is really amazing and they will adapt different diet requirements if necessary. What ever is your diet requirement they will surely do what ever is at there hand. The food had an excelent rating from the clients of other TTCs.

You will have free time on Saturday afternoon and Sunday. Samasthi Yoga School always proposes the group different excursions or activities, some have an extra cost, but they can definitely organize for you different options such as snorkeling, diving, kitesurfing, windsurfing, trekking, and kayaking.

The island offers amazing possibilities to enjoy after the intensive learning day. You can escape to the lively night market in Thongsala and enjoy nice dinner, or at midday, you can pop down to the private beach and do snorkeling, or just have a great swim and enjoy the sun.

Alternatively, you can complete your yoga days with some beautiful Thai massage treatments at very reasonable prices. It is recommended that at the end of every week you take a beautiful Thai massage and Thai sauna.

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) or Samui Airport (USM). From Bangkok, you can take night train to Surat Thani, and from Surat Thani, a bus will take you to a boat ferry direct to Ko Pha Ngan. Flights to Koh Samui are via Bangkok Air or Thai Airways and can be direct from other countries as it is an international airport.

Arrival by ferry

Upon arrival to Samui Airport (USM), you can take a boat ferry to Ko Pha Ngan. From Bangkok, you can take night train to Surat Thani, and from Surat Thani, a bus will take you to a boat ferry direct to Ko Pha Ngan. When you book your flight directly to Koh Samui, make sure you arrive before 4:30 p.m. The last boat ferry to Ko Pha Ngan leaves at that precise time.

    "One of the most profound experiences I had this week during the retreat was developing my yoga practice. Over the years I've picked it up and laid it down numerous times; often finding it difficult to return to it. This week, we were instructed by a phenomenal teacher Eleonora Trani, who is a "master" herself and no doubt channeling those who came before her. Feeling fear and vulnerability due to health issues, I resisted initially with a long list of, 'I can't do that!'
