You will spend arrival and pre-departure nights in a four-star hotel in Ulaan Bator. On your yoga holiday you will be staying at a luxury Mongolian ger (or yurt) camp. The camp is expertly run by a Mongolian team and your Reclaim Your Self hosts. The gers have wooden floors, woodburners and are beautifully decorated in traditional nomadic style with handcrafted furnishings.

There are two yurts for showers, and Reclaim Your Self makes sure everyone can get hot water for showering. The water is collected from a nearby spring or river, carried by camel or yak cart, heated on a fire, and placed in an overhead bucket. The eco - toilets are a short walk from the camp.

Reclaim Your Self Yoga Holiday in Mongolia Program

You will arrive into Ulan Bator and stay one night in the city before heading into the Gobi by Trans Mongolia Railway. Journey time is eight hours. Mongolia is a huge country and journey times are long. Your time travelling between locations is very much part of the experience.

You will have two full days in the Gobi. Emma Henry will teach daily yoga classes. Each Jivamukti class offers a dynamic asana practice that is infused with inspiring teachings derived from the ancient yogic texts. Classes will include chanting, breath awareness, flowing Vinyasa sequences, alignment exploration, hands-on assistance, relaxation and meditation.

One evening you will have a sunset hike into the desert with local herdsmen to enjoy the silence and explore the mind blowing landscape. You will also spend an afternoon and evening at a smaller camp deeper in the desert. You will meditate in a powerful place where monks used to meditate in the 15th century and then enjoy an unforgettable sunset, al fresco dinner and kirtan around the campfire.

Then head by land cruiser to your second camp for four full days in the wilderness. Journey time is again around eight hours. Along with daily yoga you can go hiking and riding with a local guide to explore to the spectacular landscape and stunning views. You will then head back to Ulan Bator for one more night before flying home.

Destino del retiro

This yoga retreat takes place in two very different locations in Mongolia. The Gobi location is magical and other worldly, an expansive desert with huge skies, powerful sunsets and friendly camels. The Khan Kentii camp is located in the interior parts of Gorkhi Terelj National Park, which is a wilderness reaching all the way to the Russian and Siberian border.

The camp is on the upper Tuul River that meanders gently through the vast meadows of wildflowers and through the lush forested hills. Khan Kenti is silent and peaceful, and time seems to stand still in this remote place, making it perfect to practice yoga, meditate, and reflect.

Actividades opcionales

Along with daily yoga, you can go hiking and riding with a local guide to explore the spectacular landscape and stunning views. You can also spend a few hours rafting or kayaking down the serene river near your camp with a local guide. A great way to take in the scenery and enjoy the peace of life on the river. You can also book massages and try the riverside sauna.

Horse riding

Mongolia is probably the most “horsey” country in the world. Riding in Mongolia is much more than just the ride, it is an encounter with an equestrian people and at the core of the Mongolian experience. Almost half of the population still tends their livestock on horseback as nomadic pastoralists. The Mongolian horse training techniques still used today are a living cultural heritage - unchanged since the time of the Huns and Genghis Khan.

Experienced riders will be in their element here as exploring on horseback in the company of a local herder is a truly wonderful way to enjoy the landscape. If you have not ridden before, Mongolia is not the place to start as the horses are semi wild. If you are really keen to ride and are not experienced please take some lessons before you come. As horse riding can be a risky activity, you’ll be asked to sign a disclaimer before you ride and our herder will decide if you are competent enough to ride his horses out of the camp and into the wilderness.

Horse riding treks have a cost of 10 USD per one hour and a half, or 20 USD for three hours, including the services of a local herdsman as a guide.

Local activities

You may try rafting at an additional cost of 15 USD for three hours.

Massage

Glamping can be tiring so you will have your own massage therapist offering you deep tissue massages. 60 GBP per hour.

Sauna

Reclaim Your Self has a yurt sauna set up right next to the river. This is an experience not to be missed and it is highly recommended to relieve jet leg, aching muscles, and general tiredness. Once you have heated your body nicely, you can run outside and jump into the river to cool down. A top Mongolia revitalizing experience with no time limit. One session for 10 GBP.
