During the retreat, you will be staying at Samahita Retreat. This retreat center will offer you options to stay in a private room, a semi-private room, and a shared two-bedroom loft. You can also enjoy herbal steam room and salt water swimming pool provided in this accommodation.
There will be also a friend or family room and board rates, which are available to any registered Samahita Retreat guest's partner, family member, or friend, who is not interested in participating in any of the programs but will stay in a room and board capacity. The shared accommodation, food, and facilities will be open to the room and board guest(s).

Yoga Alliance RYT 200 (Ashtanga Yoga)
Marilou van hoek already taught teaching during her study. Those were mostly classes in the gym until yoga crossed her path. For a year or nine, She has been teacing yoga classes and her passion is in Asthanga yoga, a dynamic form of yoga she has developed and competed in recent years. It was a gradual process, first the physical part and then the awareness and spiritual aspect. In 2011, she completed the teacher training of Ashtanga Yoga Intensive of the Yoga Alliance with a RYT 200. Then, she followed an intensive training at Richard Freeman in Boulder Colorado.
Samahita Retreat lies on the beach on the south coast of Koh Samui, a tropical island in the Gulf of Thailand that still has long stretches of pristine beaches and unspoiled land. Koh Samui is only about an hour away from Bangkok by air, an hour plus from Singapore, and three hours from Hong Kong. The island has the allure of a remote island paradise but with the accessibility of the region’s most popular destinations.
Situated on Laem Sor beach, Samahita Retreat, where you will be staying, is surrounded by towering coconut trees in a quiet spacious area, with incredible sunrises and sunsets that play with the colors of the water, sand, and tropical fauna. Only a few hundred meters away from the venue is the well-known Laem Sor Pagoda, which houses are the remains of Leung Poo Daeng, a realized monk.
The only other structures in the area are privately owned villas. As such, the beach is private and virtually undisturbed, creating a beautiful and peaceful setting for you to enjoy your Thailand yoga holiday retreat and chosen wellness packages.
As this side of the island is protected by a natural reef, there will be only some parts of the year when the beach directly in-front of Samahita is high enough to swim. When the tide is low during the summer months, you might prefer to take long swims in the saltwater swimming pool or swim out to deeper water through the boat channel.
Samahita’s refined and exquisite cuisine will support the process and growth in this retreat with its very tasty, delicious, and healthy vegetarian food that will inspire you. You will be served daily buffet brunch and dinner drawing upon Ayurvedic principals. Samahita Retreat will produce local sources whenever possible to create food prepared with love (and delicious Thai flavors). Great emphasis will be placed on the importance of food at Samahita Retreat. It serves a dual purpose of healthily nourishing the body and mind while also delighting the senses through great taste and variation.
The food philosophy is based on the principle of “Sattva”, a Sanskrit term that means pure and light with a basis of easy to digest. The emphasis is on natural ingredients including yogurt, kefir, soy milk, coconut milk, bread, jams, muesli, and breakfast juices all homemade daily. Besides, Samahita Retreat has a full-service juice bar serving up all types of juices, including home grown organic wheat grass, in addition to a variety of blended shakes.
You can radically boost your well-being and change mental and emotional states by consuming good water, fresh juices, and homemade healthy treats. Fresh juices, especially wheatgrass, can aid in detoxifying the body by restoring alkaline balance and reducing or curing many common ailments that people suffer from today. For those with a sweet tooth, freshly made cookies, energy balls, muesli bars, and ice-cream will be all created using pure unprocessed ingredients.
