You will be accommodated in Dr. Venky's Shivshakti Yoga which is not air conditioned. You will stay in twin rooms with attached toilet bathroom. For a night, you will stay at a camping site at an ashram which is one hour and 15 minutes' drive from Dr. Venky's Shivshakti Yoga.

Prana Casa India Yoga Retreat Program

During this retreat, you will be guided by an experienced yoga master, Dr. Venky, who is a well-sought master in the yoga scene in India, Singapore, and Europe with an avid following of students whose lives he has enriched through the gift of yoga.

The benefits of yogic practices once explained only through religious terms are now taught in the context of yogic science, through extensive research by the Kaivalyadhama (India) and international research workers. You will be made aware of the scientific explanations for practices like kriyas, bandha, asana, pranayama, and meditation.

Daily schedule

Day 1

You will arrive at retreat venue at around 2:00 p.m., followed by lunch and rest. You will do yoga practice at 5:00 p.m., followed by dinner.

Day 2

After morning yoga practice, breakfast, and lunch, you will proceed to the ashram site for camping which is one hour and 15 minutes' drive from the retreat venue. You will set up a camp and enjoy beautiful scenery, nature walk around water reservoir, yoga practice and camp fire, music, barbecue dinner, and some entertainment at night.

Your ashram site is away from urbanization, pollution, noises, and cement jungle, beauty of the place will calm you down, and you will experience peace of mind and rejuvenation.

Day 3

You will perform early mornings sunrise yoga practice in the open air yoga studio facing to reservoir in the natural setting of ashram site. After breakfast, you will head to explore water reservoir and guided tour around ashram site.

There, you will have a lunch break followed by two to three hours of practice of mauna (no talking) to connect with nature and reflecting yourselves. You will come back from ashram site to the retreat center for evening practice and dinner.

Day 4

After the yoga practice and breakfast, you will proceed for Karla Caves. The Karla Caves, Karle Caves, or Karla Cells are a complex of ancient Indian Buddhist rock-cut cave shrines located in Karla near Lonavala, Maharashtra. The shrines were developed over the period, from the second century B.C. to the fifth century A.D. The oldest of the cave shrines is believed to date back to 160 B.C. You will come back for lunch, evening yoga practice, and dinner.

Day 5

After yoga practice and breakfast, you will proceed to Mahabaleshwar. It is a hill station located in the Western Ghats range. With one of the few evergreen forests of India, it served as the summer capital of Bombay province during the British Raj. It is the best place for tourism. Climate of the area is suitable for cultivation of strawberries which contributes to about 85 percent of the total strawberry production in the country.

Day 6

After yoga and breakfast, you will visit the Jain temple to explore the beauty of temple and tradition of Jainism. You will come back for lunch, evening yoga practice, and dinner.

Day 7

After yoga practice and breakfast, you will proceed to Pune City for shopping and exploring Pune’s some of the unique places which you should definitely see. You will come back by 6:00 p.m. for evening practice and dinner.

Day 8

After morning practice and breakfast, you will be visiting Bhaja caves. These are a group of 22 rock-cut caves dating back to the second century B.C. located in Pune. The Bhaja caves share architectural design with the Karla caves. The most impressive monument is the large shrine, Chaitya-griha, with an open, horseshoe-arched entrance. You will come back home for lunch, evening practice, and farewell dinner.

Day 9

As per your flight timing, you can leave the retreat venue anytime before 1:00 p.m.

This retreat will take place in Pune, India. Pune is the ninth most populous city in India and the second largest in the state of Maharashtra after the state capital Mumbai. Pune is also the 101st largest city in the world, by population. In the 18th century, Pune became the political center of the Indian subcontinent, as the seat of the Peshwas who were the prime ministers of the Maratha Empire.

Pune University is considered as Oxford of India and is very popular for education with thousands of students coming from all over India for higher education. This city is more popular for castles, historical places, information technology centers, and education.

¿Cómo llegar?

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (BOM). You can book taxi online at a nominal charge of 25 Euros. Taxi will take you three hours to reach the retreat venue from the airport.

Arrival by train

You can travel for Dadar railway station to Talegaon Dabhade railway station, however, Prana Casa does not advice you to travel by train as it will be very hectic for you.
