The mango guest house is a part of Playa Nicuesa Rainforest Lodge. This is a two-story, jungle-chic structure with 4 private rooms. Each room has a private entrance, private bath with open air shower affording jungle views, private terrace, ceiling fans, louvered doors, and windows that wrap around the room providing panoramic views. The rooms have queen-sized beds or twin beds.
One bedroom cabin is a part of Playa Nicuesa Rainforest Lodge. You can relax in these private cabins tucked into the rainforest affording you a unique feeling of being in an amazing natural setting. Beautifully and uniquely designed, each cabin has hardwood floors, ceiling fans, open air shower-bathroom with amazing rainforest views, wrap around terrace, and louvered doors and windows, allowing you panoramic views. Two-bedroom cabin is a part of Playa Nicuesa Rainforest Lodge. This private cabin features two bedrooms and a living room that can be converted into another bedroom. This cabin sits on the edge of the rainforest just steps from the main lodge which is a great choice for families with younger children. This place also features hardwood floors, large bath complete with the signature garden open air shower, secluded terrace, ceiling fans, and wrap around louvered doors and windows with panoramic views of the jungle.
Cabin suite is a part of Playa Nicuesa Rainforest Lodge. The cabin suite is very private and set apart from all the other accommodations. Beautifully designed, the largest cabin has all the features of the private cabins. Plus, this spacious loft-like accommodation includes a sliding partition that adds flexibility to create two large bedrooms when closed or when open, a bedroom with a comfortable large sitting area.
Jaguar house is a part of Playa Nicuesa Rainforest Lodge. Spread out in this two-story, there is three-bedroom house surrounded by the lush jungle. The first floor includes a living room area, a bedroom, and full bath with beautiful open-air shower. The loft-like second story features a master bedroom, second bedroom, full bath, and large open terrace. This place will let the crashing of the waves lull you to sleep.

Nicuesa and the surrounding area are home to a variety of mammals, reptiles and marine life. Among the mammals, you will likely see are three types of monkeys - capuchin / whiteface, Congo / howler, Colorado / spider - anteaters, sloths, pizote / coati mundi, agouti / pack, white-lipped peccaries, and armadillos. Reptiles and amphibians include caiman, crocodile, iguanas, geckos, boa constrictors, turtles, fer-de-lance, red eye tree frog, poison dart frog, and marine toads. Marine life includes dolphins, whales, whale sharks, sea rays, turtles, and many varieties of tropical fish.
The Osa Peninsula Region is a magical and unspoiled place for nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts. Three delicious meals will be prepared daily. Each menu offers three options which include vegetarian and child-friendly meals. Playa Nicuesa Rainforest Lodge serves healthy, fresh Latino-style cuisine. The emphasis is on local cuisine and fresh fish, tropical fruits, and vegetables. The 165-acre land preserve abounds with tropical fruit trees bearing mangos, pineapple, starfruit, oranges, lemons, papayas, water apples, bananas, and of course, coconuts used to craft simple foods that celebrate the purity of the land and the bounty of the seasons.
The fresh squeezed juices and salsas are limitless. The chefs even bake their own bread and desserts. The chefs can also tailor the menu to children friendly foods, and vegetarians. Furthermore, the water at Playa Nicuesa is drinkable right from the tap. A natural spring supplies the lodge all its water and the staffs have a UV and sediment filtration system as well. From San Jose, the best way to get to Playa Nicuesa Rainforest Lodge is to fly (45 - 50 minutes) via Sansa Airlines or Nature Air to Golfito or Puerto Jimenez. Playa Nicuesa Rainforest Lodge can meet you at one of these airports and take you to the Lodge. Playa Nicuesa Rainforest Lodge is happy to help you with flight and transportation arrangements. You may also drive or arrange ground transportation to Golfito. The road between San Jose and Golfito is well-maintained and the drive time from San Jose International Airport (SJC) is about 4.5 hours. It is recommended that you park in the secured lot at the Fish Hook Marina where Playa Nicuesa Rainforest Lodge can pick you up.
Playa Nicuesa Rainforest Lodge will pick up you up from the town upon arrival (Golfito / Puerto Jimenez). Please note that Playa Nicuesa Rainforest Lodge’s transfer boat cannot pick up / drop off you any later than 3 p.m. on the day of your arrival or departure due to the water and weather conditions in the late afternoon. Playa Nicuesa Rainforest Lodge will pick up you from flights that arrive late but cannot pick up you at flights that are scheduled to arrive after 3 p.m. Therefore, please make sure that your flights, private transfers, and / or any other method of arrival / departure are scheduled before that time.
