During this retreat, you will stay either in a private or a shared room at the Blue Water Beach Resort. Blue Water Beach Resort's cottages are made in the traditional Keralan style from the mature wood of coconut trees over 100 years of age.

Each twin unit enjoys its own unobstructed views of the Arabian Sea and the beautiful Kerala coastline. These well-furnished cottages with their own balconies and verandas are fully equipped with a blend of modern amenities and traditional comforts.

This retreat inspires you to listen to your body and will guide you through your own individual transformation. You will learn tools to change your lifestyles positively with yoga, chakra restoration, detox, pranayama, and meditation.

You will be taught traditional Hatha and Ashtanga yoga as well as pranayama techniques to breathe correctly, rhythmically, deep, and slow to stimulate the inner peace and inner awareness.

Meditation practices is also incorporated to train the mind or induces a mode of consciousness so that students can achieve not only the physical awareness but also mental, emotional, and spiritual self-development.

The ancient convention of yoga is a beautiful and living tradition, which is much more than the physical practice of asanas (postures). It is a comprehensive system integrating the body, breath, heart, and mind leading to self-development and to finding a deeper meaning in life.

The approach of the Peaceful Mind - The Ancient Yoga draws upon the ancient wisdom and healing practices of yoga and offers an integrated and harmonious practice of asanas (postures), powerful pranayama (conscious breathing), chanting, and meditation.

The instruction style encourages correct postural alignment, synchronization of breath, and movement and creating awareness of the mind-body-breath complex. The coaches are also passionate about the therapeutic aspects of this ancient system and work with individuals with specific needs by using props, therapy principles, and Viniyoga.

Yoga is about appreciating one’s uniqueness (physically, mentally, and emotionally). It is about acknowledging and adapting to change, continually redefining one’s practice, and thereby moving towards self-awareness and transformation.

During the yoga retreat, your instructor is Yogi Satendra. He likes to draw upon the ancient wisdom and healing system of yoga and teaches from a place of personal practice and experience. He encourages one to explore their own personal potential and the transformational potential of this ancient discipline.

Yogi Satendra has always been passionate about motivating people to achieve their fitness and health goals and inspiring them to lead healthy lifestyles. Apart from being a personal coach, he naturally gravitated towards the practice of yoga and his journey to the greatest learning of the self and optimal state of wellness began. He expresses deep gratitude to his teachers and gurus, his family, his students, each and everyone who made this journey possible, and to life itself for the love, guidance, faith, and inspiration.

Satendra Shrivastava
Yogi Satendra is the founder of Peaceful Mind. He has 30 years of experience in the field of mental and physical well-being and inner strength through yoga, pranayama, meditation, and spiritual approach like chanting and Yagya (oblation). He is also a certified yoga therapist and has a post graduate diploma in yoga science and has a certificate in Health Conservation from the University in India. His philosophy style involves correct postural alignment, balancing strength, and flexibility applying suitable modifications.
Shreya Shrivastava
(Hatha Yoga)
Shreya is a spiritual and professional yoga teacher and co-founder of Peaceful Mind-The Ancient Yoga with an experience of nine years in the domain of yoga. She is a yoga mentor with diversified experience in meditation, pranayama, Hatha yoga, mantras chanting, and yoga philosophy. She is a highly dedicated, experienced, and passionate yoga instructor. Her acrobatic skills have influenced the vigorous yet graceful way she practices and teaches yoga. She can easily motivate and inspire people to go beyond.

Discover Verkala Beach and its surroundings

The Varkala Beach is one of the finest beaches in Kerala. Varkala, situated at Pythal Mala hill station, is an important religious place for the Hindus. It is the only place in South Kerala where you can see cliffs adjacent to the Arabian Sea.

There are various tourist attractions in Varkala, such as the 2000-year-old Sree Janardhana Swamy Temple, the religious site Sivagiri Mutt, the 924-feet Varkala Tunnel, the Kappil Lake, and the Nature Center.

The coastal city of Varkala is mainly renowned for its exotic beach, which will make your tour to Kerala memorable. The Varkala Beach is a popular and scenic beach, beautified by lofty cliffs and mineral-water springs.

The Varkala Beach is also called Papanasam Beach because it is popularly believed that bathing here will wash away all of one's sins. Varkala Beach is a calm and isolated sandy expanse where you can have a relaxing beach holiday without the crowds and hustle-bustle of some of the busier beaches in Kerala.

There are a number of tourist attractions near Varkala Beach. The mineral water gushing from the hill is believed to have medicinal properties and many people come here to drink and bathe in the water from the mineral springs. You can also visit the nearby Sree Janardhana Swamy Temple and the Nature Center.

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Trivandrum International Airport (TRV). Transfer from and to this airport is available upon request. Pre-paid taxis are available from the airport to Varkala. The Trivandrum International Airport (TRV) is located around 45 kilometers away from the beach town.

Trivandrum International Airport caters to over 40 international and national flights and over a thousand passengers every day. Flights connect Thiruvananthapuram to many major Indian cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kochi, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. It is also connected by flight to several destinations in Middle East.
