On this retreat, you will be staying at Valle de Vida. Valle de Vida’s Retreat Centre is large enough to roam around in (18 acres), but Omega Movement protects the sense of peace and space by limiting the numbers to 30 guests. Valle de Vida's also have a beautiful 100 meters square enclosed courtyard with adjustable glass curtains that are perfect for occasional days when protection is needed from the weather. Please note that Valle de Vida has cats and dogs that live in the retreat center.

The main house, El Romero, is a beautifully restored traditional Andalucian Finca, with rooms for 16 guests. It has seven bedrooms, a large kitchen and lounge area, and a huge wood burning fireplace used during the colder months.

However, for holiday guests who want the full Spanish sensory experience of the mountains at night, the two large teepees will bring you closer to Cartama’s nature, as do the two new ME-Pods (5.5-meter diameter, 3.5-meter tall solid domed structures) and the three geodesic domes.

The teepees and ME-Pods are clean, spacious, and very comfortable, with tiled floors, electricity, and beautiful bedding. They are perfect for those with an affinity for the outdoors but don’t wish to compromise on comfort. Each is connected with paths winding amongst the almond and olive groves, picked out with solar lights. They all have beautiful views across the valley, with the glittering stars, Spanish night breeze whispering through the trees, and the sounds of crickets and cicadas lulling you to sleep.

Teepees are weather dependent and the availability will be confirmed a week prior to the retreat. An alternative indoor venue will be provided in the event that the weather is not suitable for teepees.

The following treatments are available through the retreat centre's specialist team: sauna, steam room, pool, hydrotherapy pool, therapy room, aromatherapy massage, ayurvedic massage, craniosacral osteopathy, deep tissue massage, foot massage, hands and arms massage, hands and feet massage, holistic aromatic facial, Indian head massage, Indian head massage / back massage, reflexology, Reiki, Reiki / reflexology, Reiki / reflexology/ massage special combi, relaxing neck, shoulders and face massage, Shendau acupressure shoulder and neck release, shoulder and back massage, structural osteopathy, Swedish massage, Thai massage-on floor futon, and Thai seated massage / bodywork.

The heart of this retreat is in exploring the different ways that can help you find alignment through movement, meditation, and intentions. The classes may include workshop style elements to encourage the day theme and more free time to play in the sun. Each day is themed to explore different alignment for a fuller enjoyment of life. Please note that the exact times may change.

Nid will help you find your edge within correct technique whilst recognising your deeper state of relaxation and stability. Nid is a certified Stott Pilates matwork and reformer instructor, alignment Vinyasa flow yoga, and yoga Nidra teacher. Combining her training Nid teaches a softer strength with fluidity and flow, building a deeper strength, and awareness - something to sustain your body and mind throughout your life. Her classes leave you feeling stronger, longer, calmer, and more balanced to face the world.

  • Molly Martin

Molly initially turned to yoga as a means of stress relief and exercise, but years later she realised the practice had crept into all facets of her life. She believes that our bodies, thoughts, feelings, and minds are capable of developing and evolving through a regular yoga practice. Keen to share her experiences with others, Molly teaches gentle Vinyasa flow classes. She encourages students to cultivate an awareness of how the practice affects them – creating a process of self-enquiry, and allowing them to connect with their own inner teacher, and their own expression of yoga.
