You will stay at a small resort, located at the top of the hill above Pokhara Lakeside. It is the part of town by Phewa Lake, with all the cafes, shops, and restaurants. The resort is close enough to the town to enjoy its bustling life, but far enough to be protected from the noise, dust, and the crowds. There is a swimming pool, which you can use any time of the day, as much as you want.
There is also a huge lush garden encircling the entire resort with fruit trees, palm trees, coffee plants, flowers. The rooms are very comfortable and stylish, offering a lot of privacy, as they all have their own separate porch with a sitting area and a hammock. All the rooms have 24-hour electricity and en-suite bathrooms with hot running water.
Mornings times are reserved for your practice, which will usually take around 2 hours. You will have an early start, and after the class, you will have a freshly prepared brunch. Afternoons times offer an array of possibilities. You are always free to take things easy, such as swimming, lounging by the pool, playing badminton, fooling around on the trampoline, or just chilling in a hammock. If you feel like exploring the area, My Yogic Adventure offers several hikes to visit local temples, villages, and enjoy the view of the lake and the Himalayas.
For the real adventurers, tandem paragliding can be organized for you in one of the world's most beautiful paragliding spots. In the evenings, you will have a shorter class, it takes about an hour before delicious home cooked buffet-style dinner around 19:00. After dinner, there is free time for everybody. All activities and classes are optional, and everybody is welcome to skip any of them any time they feel like it.
You will practice yoga two times a day on the spacious rooftop, with a wonderful view of the surrounding fields and the lake. Marija teaches traditional Hatha yoga, with a lot of emphasis on the proper alignment of the body, breath, and focus. Apart from asana (posture), you will practice pranayama (yogic breathing), as well as meditation in each class.
The classes are organized as workshops, and you will explore different physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of the practice. The retreat is suitable for all levels. Beginners will have the chance to get the taste of yoga and build a strong foundation for their yogic journey. More experienced yogis will deepen their understanding and get some inspiration to further develop their practice.
In this program, you will have a chance to go hiking to Sarangkot, the best spot to see the most spectacular sunrise.
Marija teaches Hatha yoga, infused with some elements of Vinyasa Flow and free movement exploration, with an emphasis on proper alignment, breathing, and focus. Her aim is to help students get a better understanding of their bodies and movements so that they can work together on developing their safe and sustainable personal practice. Meditation is an essential part of her classes. For her, to touch the essence of asana practice is to move mindfully, to develop body awareness and learn how to listen to our bodies with kindness and understanding.
The retreat center is located on a hill above Pokhara Lakeside, offering a magnificent view of Phewa Lake. It is far enough to never be disturbed by the noise or the crowds, but close enough to explore the restaurants, cafes, shops, and the local culture.
Pokhara is Nepal's most charming town, this place is very close to the Annapurna Himalayan range, so the snowy peaks seem like you could almost touch them. The town is located at the side of Phewa Lake and it offers a perfect combination of tourist spots and activities, cafes, restaurants, bars, paragliding, and quiet spots in nature.
Brunch and dinner are included in the price of the retreat. If you get hungry in the meantime, you can always order something at the additional cost from a diverse restaurant menu. All the food is always freshly prepared. Most of the ingredients come from the garden of the retreat center, where they grow organic vegetables. They even have their own organic rice fields. The meals served at the retreat will all be a mix of traditional Nepalese and continental food. All the food served at the retreat is vegetarian.
