Itinerary

Day 1 and 2: Arriving and setting intentions

These first two days are intended to orient you into your new environment and routine so you can begin to settle in and allow your mind and body to relax. Together, you will create a sacred circle where you will set your individual and group intentions and bring the first day to a close with a Restorative yoga class after an exciting day of traveling.

On the second day, you will start your day with morning yoga session and a small swim or trek to start getting to know the island. There will be a free time where you can just listen to what you want to do.

Maybe, you might want to schedule in a spa treatment or maybe just enjoy the book which you're brought. Now that you have made time for yourself, allow the days to roll out as it pleases. Your day will end with an afternoon sunset yoga, pranayama, and meditation.

Day 3 and 4

Now that you have allowed your body and mind to relax through your practice of pranayama, yoga, meditation while being immersed in the elements, it is time to feel how your intentions naturally take root into your hearts, allowing it to expand as you deeply listen to your own inner guidance.

Within these two days, you will have your morning and evening yoga and meditation practice, have a talk on healing through nature and yoga, and snorkel in a marine sanctuary. Here it is important to make time for yourself and if you are with your partner, you have time to engage in quality time with each other.

If there should be anything that comes up and you would like to have a one-on-one session or a couples session, this would be the time to schedule. These could also be days in which you choose to take a silent day / s and become a witness to your mind.

Day 5 and 6

As your roots to your intentions and your hearts strengthen, your connection with your inner spirit, your energy will revive. In this space, you will remember who you are and together, you will celebrate and express your gratitude.

These two days will continue to be filled with your morning and evening yoga, pranayama, and meditation classes. You will also have a talk on spiritual journey, enjoy a day at the beach, enjoy another day at a beautiful marine sanctuary, music, bonfire, and poi workshops.

Day 7

You will be continuing your journey over to your home or your next destination.

During this retreat, you will enjoy a beach day in Montague Island, snorkeling in a marine sanctuary, and a guided trekking.

  • Valerie Asch

Valerie is a yoga and freedive / apnea instructor.

This retreat will take place in Camiguin Island, Philippines. Relatively unspoiled and an ideal size for exploration, Camiguin (cah-mee-geen) is notable for its imposing silhouette, drop it down next to Hawaii or Maui and it wouldn’t look out of place.

With over 20 cinder cones 100-meter plus high, Camiguin has more volcanoes per square kilometer than any other island on earth. And because it’s untouched by large-scale tourism and one of the more tranquil islands around, the 10 kilometers of Gingoog Bay separating the island from the mainland are partly responsible for those who do come feel proprietorial about this little jewel and guard news of its treasures like a secret.

Besides the usual diving, snorkeling, and sandy beaches (except for offshore ones, beaches have brown sand), Camiguin offers a chance to climb a volcano and a seemingly endless supply of jungle waterfalls and hot and cold springs, as quoted from Lonely Planet.

Kurma Eco Beach Lodge's interpretation of local fusion cuisine using fresh and local produce will ignite your taste buds, satisfy your hunger, and warm your hearts. Some of the dishes served at Kurma Eco Beach Lodge are vegetarian steak with beansotto, creamy tangy spaghetti, root salad, yogurt flatbread with dips, naked beef pie, and Asian invasion.
