During this retreat, you will be staying in Casa Camara. It is located in San Juan, an antique coconut plantation a palm tree property, situated at the heart of Biosphere Reserve of Sian Ka'an. Enjoy of absolute atmosphere of privacy and freedom surrounded by nature at the sandy and pristine waters of the Caribbean.

All house and the bedrooms have just been renovated and very comfortable with new furniture, fans, multiple amenities, and air conditioning. You will live a experience with the feeling of a unique privacy in our very extensive property without neighbors.

Kiva Yoga Institute Retreat Tulum Program


You will take an assessment of yourself to determine your prominent dosha and specific constitution. You will keep a journal of how you feel each day according to what you ate and take time to practice self-love, whatever that looks like for you. Recipes will be shared and you will have a better understanding of what you need to feel your best.

Plant medicine

Ancient and indigenous cultures around the world have documented and passed down ceremonies using plants since the beginning of time. Plant medicine is used for healing and communicating with nature. Through these practices, you will learn how to tap into the sacred medicine, spirit, essence, and guidance of the plants.

You will aim to build a deeper respect for yourself and these "plants of the gods" while redefining your relationship to the medicine. Some of the sacred plants you will be working with are San Isidro and San Pedro.

Yoga meditation

You will grasp a basic understanding of the fundamental concepts and techniques that allow us to journey inward. Each day, you will explore a pillar of yoga meditation and practice. As you learn to observe, accept, understand, and train your minds, you will use plant medicine to help you release blockages and open the gate to center of consciousness.

Daily schedule

Day 1: September 14, 2017 - Thursday

  • 14:00 Arrive at Cancun International Airport (CUN)
  • 14:30 Board transport to Tulum
  • 16:30 Arrive at house. Upon arriving, you will be greeted with snacks and Ayurvedic teas. Settled in by choosing a room and take a few minutes to breathe
  • 17:00 Gather for overview of retreat and need to know information
  • 18:00 Sunset walk on the beach. Intentions: Observing
  • 19:30 Ayurvedic dinner and discussion of yoga meditation
  • 21:30 Meditation on How To: Get To The Center Of Consciousness

Day 2: September 15, 2017 - Friday

  • 06:30 Wake up to Ayurvedic tea
  • 07:00 Salute the sunrise Yoga Flow
  • 09:00 Ayurvedic breakfast and discussion of accepting
  • 09:30 Bio reserve trek and Mayan Ruins
  • 10:30 San Isidro Ceremony
  • 14:00 Ayurvedic lunch
  • 15:00 Free time or optional massage services
  • 19:30 Ayurvedic dinner
  • 21:00 Meditation

Day 3: September 16, 2017 - Saturday

  • 06:30 Wake up to Ayurvedic tea

  • 10:00 Ocean expedition: Expanding Breath with optional scuba certification
  • 13:00 Lunch on the boat

  • 07:00 Cannabis Ceremony with special salute the sun Yoga Flow

  • 11:00 Pack, check out, and head back to Tulum

Krystal Ariel
Yoga Alliance E-RYT 200 (Vinyasa Yoga)
Krystal teaches Vinyasa, Restorative, and Yin and Yang styles of yoga. She received her training with Fred Busch Power Yoga in 2013 and studies Ayurvedic medicine through the works of Dr. Vasant Lad and Swami Sada Shiva Tirtha. She applies the wisdom of Ayurveda to food, medicinal teas, and plant medicine. She is full of love and nurturing vibes, creating a safe space for bodywork and healing.
Israel Pasos
Israel studied Mysore style Ashtanga yoga under Matt Champoux in San Francisco and studies yoga science under Swami Jnaneshvara, a master of the Himalayan meditation tradition. He delights in the philosophies of Buddhism, Taoism, and the yogi way. He is a mover of subtle energy and facilitator in the process of reaching the center of consciousness.
