Cortijo Caseria del Mercado is a traditional Spanish country house surrounded by its own land. It is not really what you think of as a farm in Northern Europe, although it is self-sufficient most of the year. There is a swimming pool and different indoor and outdoor eating spaces. Inspira Yoga has run many yoga intensive teacher training courses at the Cortijo. They find that the place itself and the surrounding area is very conducive for yogic living and the energy is so beautiful.
The venue has its own market garden with organic seasonal vegetables and fruit trees dotted around the land. It also has a small goat herd for milk, horses, peacocks, etc. The land is extensive enough for people to find their own solitude if required. There are several toilets, five fully equipped bathrooms, and also two washing machines
Upon completion of this yoga teacher training, students will receive certificate affiliated with Yoga Alliance. Registration with Yoga Alliance provides a globally recognized credential.

The style that Inspira Yoga teaches is a joyful, creative, and intelligent modified Ashtanga primary series flow, which can be easily adapted to different levels of ability and different tempos. At the end of the training, you will not only be qualified to teach the modified Ashtanga primary series but will also have the tools to create other styles like Vinyasa flow and a more Restorative yoga.
Also taught on the course, you focus on sthira sukha asanam, firm-steady-pose, inner silence, ease of breath, union of mind-body-spirit, and a sense of connection within and without.
With this method, you will be able to guide your students honoring the different levels of abilities and limitations, always respecting the traditional spiritual aspect of yoga which comes from connecting the physical aspects of asanas with the more subtle aspects of ourselves such as the breath, mind, and the emotions.

Pranayama is the art and science of yogic breathing techniques and these techniques will reliably produce the benefits listed above. The aim of both yoga in general and pranayama, in particular, is to help you participate in the nearly unlimited intelligence of the life force so that you can share in its capacities. Instead of fighting nature, you gradually become able to partner with it. When the ancient seers began their study of the potential of being human thousands of years ago, they soon saw that working with the breath could yield impressive results toward greater aliveness, self-expression, and power.
The breath is one of the easiest doorways into the capabilities of the human nervous system because it touches every aspect of your being: physical, physiological, psych emotional, and spiritual. On the Inspira Yoga's 200-hour yoga teacher training, they will progressively teach you basic pranayama techniques in order to create an experiential awareness in the trainee and provide all the necessary tool to share these transformative teachings.
Meditation helps you become calm, develop concentration, get a balanced perspective on life, and cultivate unshakeable happiness and spiritual magnetism. The spectrum of techniques you share during the training is based on the highest ancient yogic practices of India. It includes breath awareness, antar mouna, yoga Nidra, and dynamic meditation to mention but a few.
You will practice and teach extensively during the training with ample guidance and feedback from the instructors to prepare you to teach meditation skills to anyone.
At Inspira Yoga, the ancient teachings of the East are taught in a modern way suitable for the Western mind, so you can flourish in your practice and naturally gravitate to a more yogic lifestyle. Inspira Yoga has no bias to any particular spiritual teachings in a non-dogmatic way which embraces many spiritual traditions and paths.
Studying the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, you focus on the eight limbs of Ashtanga yoga. The eight limbs illuminate your understanding of what yoga is and how to practice. The real teachings come from all those who participate in the training discussing, sharing, exploring, and debating yoga practice and yogic lifestyle in the animated philosophical sessions that take place each week.
Notes: The classes start at 06:30 and finish between 18:30 and 19:00 every evening. There are also appropriate breaks built in for meals and rest. Weekends are free on this one-month intensive course.
Raquel Salvador was born in Spain in 1973. She moved to London in 1999 where she became interested in yoga and began practicing in many different schools in and around London. Seeking to deepen her knowledge of yoga, she undertook a 12-month teacher training course in 2007 in London with the intention of teaching her passion for yoga to others. In her teaching, she translates her personal understandings with a fresh and relaxed approach, with the intention of awakening the students self-wonder and providing a framework for a lifetime inquiry process and learning.
Mark has been teaching yoga since 1995 and is recognized as one of the first Ashtanga yoga teachers to settle and teach regular classes in the UK. From 1996, Mark spent 12 years as a senior teacher at the prestigious LifeCentre in west London. He now teaches on retreats, workshops, and teacher training courses in worldwide destinations including UK, Spain, Thailand, and India. Mark is the author of the book Yoga for Beginners which was published in 1997. It's one of the early yoga books written offering an introduction to Ashtanga yoga.
This one-month intensive course takes place in southern Spain at the beautiful Cortijo Caseria Del Mercado, a small organic farm high in the Alpujarras mountains of Andalucia. The Cortijo is located in the middle of the Alpujarras, very close to Trevelez, which is an area known for its clean, fresh mountain air, herbal plant life, and relaxing natural environment.
It is very popular among alternative communities of respectful harmonious living with the environment, the climate, and the peace of the area. The local area is fantastic hiking country with spectacular mountain views and isolated white villages. The nearest beach is just over an hour away, it will be nice to relax by the sea on the weekends.
The closest major cities include Granada, Almeria, Jaen, and Malaga. The closest airport, Granada Airport (GRX), is one hour away from the venue. The closest town to the venue is Orgiva. Alternatively, there is a bus from the local village of Castaras (15 minutes' walk away) to the town of Orgiva 30 minutes' drive away.
During the training, a substantial brunch will be provided Monday to Friday. All other meals will be self-catered. There are four fully-equipped kitchens available with fridges and ovens. Castaras does not have any shops but it does have two inexpensive tapas bars where you can eat snacks and relax.
Please book your flight to arrive at Granada Airport (GRX). Transfer from and to the airport is included. Inspira Yoga will pick you up from the airport.
Malaga Airport (AGP) is the second best option. Some of you can come to the location by car or bus from Madrid and you can also fly directly to Malaga. Car hire is available at Madrid and Malaga airports.
Once in Spain, you will need to make your way to Orgiva, one of the first towns in the Alpujarra mountains. For information on buses from Malaga and Granada please visit Alsa's website. Inspira Yoga will arrange the meeting at Orgiva bus station before midday on Saturday 1 to do some shopping for food before you are taken to the Cortijo.
For you who want to go a day earlier from Orgiva, you can take a minibus which goes to Castaras. Ask them to stop at Cortijo Caseria del Mercado, which is located five minutes before Castaras.
