    A very positive retreat experience.

PROS Me gustó: I chose this retreat because the advertised programme looked interesting. I was also intrigued by the title "Ifeelyoga" having been previously on a Buddhist retreat called "Meditating with the body". However, there were no reviews at all and I was a little apprehensive before going. Fortunately, everything turned out to be better than I expected. Faruk was a very good teacher with a friendly, playful manner. During his classes, I had a sense of experiencing something special, serious and joyful. Central to his instruction of the asanas was an invitation to focus in an experiential way how to really be with our bodies. Paying homage to Patanjali, he brought yoga right back to its roots as a practice for re-establishing a union between body and mind. His emphasis was on how yoga is ultimately about gaining wisdom and truth by lbeing in a proper relationship with one's body. Through making us go right back to basics and do yoga slowly and mindfully, his "feeling" yoga is a very powerful tool for discovering different levels of experience. Each time we go more deeply into our cells and inner body, we cannot help but encounter that inner stillness which feeds one's life with calm, joy, trust and confidence. For me, it was wonderfully nourishing to be on a retreat where the focus was on yoga as a practice for living life rather than as a kind of exercise for getting more flexible and fitter.
