You will be provided with traditional Kerala vegetarian food. The patient’s diet is being prescribed by the doctor and is being specially prepared by the expert cooks. Organic and vegetarian food will be served, as prescribed by the physician. Avoid overeating and eating before the previous meal has been digested, as well as avoid eating too quickly and swallowing without chewing.

Sri Adi Sankara Keerthi Sthamba Mandapam is an eight-story memorial built by Kanchi Kamakoti Mutt. The entrance to the memorial, guarded by two elephant statues, leads to the Paduka Mandapam. Two silver knobs represent the padukas or wooden sandals of the teacher. The walls of the memorial feature framed relief paintings that tell the story of Adi Sankaracharya.
Several large statues of Ganapati, Adi Sankara, and others are also housed in this memorial. Adi Sankara’s shrines in Kalady are open to all pilgrims, irrespective of religion and caste. Bhoothathankettu is a dam and a tourist spot in Kerala, India. It is situated outside the village of Pindimana, about 10 kilometers away from the town of Kothamangalam and 50 kilometers away from the main city of Kochi. The original natural dam has been supplemented by a modern dam impounding the Bhoothathankettu Reservoir (Thattekad Reservoir). During the Malayatoor pilgrim season, travelers use the roads through the forest.
Large blocks of unshaped stones are placed on both sides of the Periyar River to form the dam, making it look like a natural dam built by super humans. The name Bhoothathan Kettu, means monster fort. Past generations believed it was built by a Bhootham (monster).

As the number of animals significantly increased, animal activists started complaining about keeping such a large number of animals in a small area of 2.5 acres of land in Kodanad. Deers were struggling in a very small fenced area. Elephants had no space to walk around. The objective of Abhayaranyam project is to develop an animal rescue center for the rescue and rehabilitation of wild animals.
Malayattoor is a village in the north eastern corner of Ernakulam district in the state of Kerala in South India. The name ‘Malayattoor’ is an amalgamation of three small words: mala (mountain), arr (river), and oore (place). This is to say, Malayattoor is a meeting place of mountain, river, and land.
Kurisumudi is a mountain at Maiayattoor 1269 feet above sea level. Kurisumudi has its fame as a place visited by St. Thomas, one of the apostles of Jesus Christ. Jesus gave a mandate to his apostles to go out to the whole world and to proclaim the good news. Taking upon himself this commandment, Thomas set out to India and landed at Kodungalloor in AD 52.

Right from the time the golden cross was found, the locals began a practice of lighting an oil lamp and whenever the lamp gave in to the wind, a herd of goats came down wailing and people used to climb the mountain and light the lamp again. Pilgrims who climb the mountain even today carry with them seasamum seeds to feed the goats, even though goats are a rare sight.
Caressed and nourished by the River Periyar which flows between Malayattoor in the north and Paniyeli in the south, the place obtained its name from the routine fight of raftsmen with the wild waves of the river. The river also offers one with a panoramic view of this pristine spot.
Earlier bamboos were cut and tied as logs to form a raft. The raftsmen who carried these bamboos to Malayattoor and other places through the river had to battle the tough waves of the river. The place got its name from poru, the Malayalam word which means fight.

The Thattekkad Bird Sanctuary, covering an area of barely 25 square kilometers and located about 12 kilometers from Kothamangalam, was the first bird sanctuary in Kerala. Salim Ali, one of the best known ornithologist, described this sanctuary as the richest bird habitat on peninsular India. Thattekkad literally means flat forest, and the region is an evergreen lowland forest located between the branches of Periyar River, the longest river in Kerala.

It is very effective treatment for inflammation of joints, rheumatic arthritis, and osteoarthritis.
In this process, specially prepared medicated liquid (Dhanyamla) is poured all over the body in a specific manner for a duration of 45 to 60 minutes. It is very useful in weight reduction and increases the fat metabolism.
The patient is allowed to inhale the fumes of medicated wick through each nostril alternatively, closed one nostril while inhaling through the other, and exhaled through the mouth. It is useful in diseases affecting the parts above the shoulders.
It is a sudation process and Abhyanga is done prior to this process. The body will sweat by using bolus containing fried medicinal leaves, turmeric, pieces of lemon, and garlic dipped into a vessel containing warm medicated oil and applied throughout the whole body in seven different postures for a duration of 45 to 60 minutes.

Special herbal leaves and medicines are boiled in water and that water is given for bathing. It removes all the impurities and makes the skin smooth and fresh.
Some of the herbal leaves are boiled and steam is passed to the whole body for 10 to 20 minutes within the steam chamber. The individual is made to sweat, it removes all the impurities and toxins of the body, prevents skin diseases, and reduces fat.
This is a panchakarma treatment in which oils or medicines and instilled into each nostril, alternately keeping the other one closed. The patient is asked to inhale well, so as to spread the medicine. Palm, foot, face, and shoulders are then massaged well and the patient is asked to spit. Prior to the nasal medication, local application of oil followed by fomentation is done at the neck, face, and shoulder.
It is indicated in disease of ear, nose, throat, head, and eyes. Also useful in facial paralysis, sinusitis, migraine, and mental disorders.
Medicated decodtion is made to flow from the medial canthus to lateral canthus of the eye. It cleanses and prevents the diseases in the eyes.
A wall boundary is made around the eye socket with herbal paste and then medicated ghee is poured into it slowly with the eyes closed. Then the patient is asked to open the eyes slowly and retain the drug for a required time. It is very effective treatment for eye diseases like loss of eyelashes, clouded vision, poor eyesight, and it relieves eye strain and improves the eye sight.
It is a sudation process in which njavara rice is cooked and filled in boluses made out of cotton cloths. These boluses are massaged over the body after liberal application of medicated oil. The rice used is cooked in cow’s milk and medicated oil. The boluses are then dipped in this mixture and applied all over the body.
It is highly nourishing, rejuvenating, and helps to improve the immunity. It is an effective treatment for arthritis, rheumatism, malnutrition of limbs, and also improves the luster of skin.
A thick piece of cotton wool is soaked in warm medicated oil and is applied over the affected area for a duration of 45 to 60 minutes. It is very effective in lower back pain, osteoarthritis, sciation, spondylosis, and other injuries.

In this panchakarma treatment, the patient is subjected to snehana and swedana. A single dose of strong purgative medicine is given to eliminate the vitiated doshas.
