The Doron Yoga Teacher Training Program is a life-changing, growth, and transformational opportunity. Doron Yoga is a holistic approach to yoga, and more broadly, to life - blending meditation, pranayama, asana, food, and nutrition, Ayurveda, mind training, philosophy, energy work, and Bhakti for a healthy, well-balanced life. When you grow as an individual, learn about yourself, deepen your practice, and become an example for others, you naturally develop into a great teacher and a better person.
If you want to understand the greater meaning of yoga, not just the asana aspect; understand the yoga lifestyle and learn how to integrate it into your life; explore more elements from other traditions like energy channels, Sanskrit terms, and Yin Yoga, so you have a real good and balanced practice; learn the correct alignment of poses so you improve your practice, keep it sustainable, and know how to teach it to others; understand how to do and teach the more challenging poses; be a teacher that knows how to give awesome hands-on adjustments, which words to use, and how to demonstrate; study with a group of like-minded yogis, and belong to a yoga family that cares, during the training and afterward, you are looking at the right program. This will be an experience of a lifetime!
After completing the training you will be eligible for the Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher credential at the 200-hour level (RYT-200)
Notes: This schedule is given as a guide to help you to envisage your time with Doron Yoga. In practice, it will vary according to the focus of the week to accommodate specific teachings and to adapt to the best interests of the course. Your Sundays are free and no lunch is provided.

Doron Yoga & Zen Center is an eco-conscious yoga resort located in the breathtaking surroundings of Lake Atitlán. The welcoming home is situated in Tzununá (translates to Land of the Hummingbird) which rests amongst the many exceptionally unique villages surrounding the lake. Tzununá is the perfect spot for reconnecting with yourself as it is one of the most quiet villages around, populated mainly by Mayan locals. Amongst the various reasons that make the location special is the Tzununá River that runs through the garden with many meditations spots by it. The yoga shala sits along the Tzununá River, allowing for the sound of water to flow softly and soothingly into our daily practices. Furthermore, you will find at walking distance inspiring projects nearby such as permacultural foundations, academies, herbal apothecaries and farms such as Atitlán Organics to explore. In this relaxing village in the jungle rests a beautiful waterfall with the accompaniment of a small cave that makes meditation and chanting sessions wonderfully inviting.
Additionally, when keen on visiting the neighbor villages, you may relax knowing that you are only one short boat or Tuk-Tuk ride away! The closest villages to Tzununá are; San Marcos La Laguna, an exciting venue for holistic treatments and various spiritual events, and Jaibalito, the mysterious town with gorgeous hikes that is solely accessible by boat.
Three vegetarian / vegan meals will be served each day. Doron Yoga source many of their ingredients from their very own organic gardens and locally source what their permaculture cannot supply.
The food they serve is prepared with love, passion, and attention to detail. The menu is created under the guidance of the founder and director, who is also a trained chef and certified nutrition consultant, it is designed to give optimal plant-based nutrition and high energy whilst inspiring a gastronomical journey aimed to nurture body, mind, and soul.
You will get great balance of raw food, cooked food (with healthy oils), fermented foods, healthy sauces, home made jams and peanut butter, homemade granola, baked sourdough bread, freshly made tortillas, signature pizza from the clay oven, and so much more.
Their goal is simple: To let mother nature’s cuisine shine with all the exciting tastes, textures, vibrant colors, and pure flavors.
Lake Atitlan offers a plethora of different activities, including but not limited to swimming, kayaking, and hiking. A day trip can be taken by boat or tuk-tuk to the nearby villages for sightseeing and shopping, which also has a dock where local lanchas (boat taxis) stop every 20 to 40 minutes to take you to explore other towns around the lake.
San Marcos is the closest town over and can be reached by boat, tuk-tuk or walking. There, you can relax in one of the many cafes and restaurants or partake in an array of healing offerings, including shamanism, cacao ceremonies, Reiki, and much more. Among others, San Pedro, a short ride to the other side of the lake, has more of a vibrant backpacker’s vibe and is a little less expensive. San Juan offers more hand made stores, beautiful murals, co-ops, and a small village feel.
During your stay here, you will be able to book exceptional massages with the hand-picked specialists from around Lake Atitlán. Each one of them is highly trained and experienced in several different therapies and able to work with you to provide you a massage that will supplement your yoga practice and help you release more deeply into your body. Enjoy the specialist’s art of bodywork while listening to the calming sounds of the Tzununa River. Give yourself the gift of complete bliss.

Please book your flight to arrive at La Aurora International Airport (GUA). From there, it's easiest to take a shuttle to the town of Panajachel, located on Lake Atitlan. Doron yoga can arrange a private or shared shuttle for you. If you'd like to take a shared shuttle, please plan to arrive at the airport before noon, as the last shared shuttles leave the city at 2 p.m.
From Panajachel, you can take the boat (lancha) in the direction of San Marcos to Tzununa, the small village where they are located. It is the stop before San Marcos. The last boat from Panajachel is at 7 p.m. Though there are also private boats available after this time, they would recommend arriving in time for the public boats if possible.
In Tzununa, take a tuk-tuk from the dock to Doron Yoga. There will be tuk-tuk drivers waiting at the dock, and all tuk-tuk drivers in Tzununa know where they are located.
