You will practice yoga and meditate at Jim's Farm Villas in Matale, Central Province, Sri Lanka. This amazing location is a coconut farm which has been renovated beautifully just over eight years ago. The place has been developed into a "diverse 50-acre organic fruit and spice farm" for the benefit of the guests and the local community.
Centrally located midway between Dambulla and Kandy within the Cultural Triangle, during your Chillout Retreats yoga holiday you can either relax on the farm at the poolside, spa or enjoy memorable day trips to nature parks, ancient temples or fabulous heritage sites like Sigiriya. Set amongst wooded hills and next to paddy-fields, the farm is a haven for birds which 102 species have been spotted so far.
Either way, you will enjoy the tranquillity of Jim's Farm Villas' 50-acre organic farm which is only three kilometers from the main Dambulla to Kandy road and learn more about life in a Sri Lankan village with its seasons as well as traditions. You can even learn how to cook a delicious Sri Lankan rice and curry here.
All brunches and dinners will be served for you during your stay. Fruits that are fresh from the trees in the season will also be provided. Most of the fruits, spices and vegetables you will enjoy are grown on the farm. You can have teas, refreshments and healthy snacks too for a small extra charge. Unlimited fresh fruits and a fine selection of decaffeinated teas as well as coffee are available 24 hours a day. The phrases "you are what you eat" or "wellness starts from within" sum up Chillout Retreats' philosophy on food and juices on their retreats.
Chillout Retreats understands and respects the important role they play in the promotion of wellness as well as general good health. The cuisine on this retreat is detox orientated, nutritionally balanced and well-thought out to provide you with enough vital vitamins, minerals as well as energy to keep you tip-top throughout your stay with Chillout Retreats. Toxins in the body result from poor diet, stress, pollution, drug use, the water you drink and environmental exposure.
Your bodies tend to accumulate impurities from many different sources including food additives, pesticides, vehicle exhaust fumes, medical drug residues and internal body processes. If you are distressed, under par or overweight, the natural elimination of these waste products may be too slow for the body in the long term. This is why Chillout Retreats helps to kick start a healthier lifestyle whilst on retreat with them. The detox cuisine helps to cleanse and help your system enabling it to cope with the daily demands placed on it.
Most importantly, Chillout Retreats can cater for all intolerances and allergies. Chillout Retreats always have wheat, gluten and dairy free options. All of the dishes are vegetarian. Wherever possible, Chillout Retreats will buy fresh and local ingredients because supporting the local economy is also high on their agenda.
This retreat include two hours' spa treatments of your choice from Dr Ranjith, an Ayurvedic doctor.
