Alojamiento

The accommodation at this venue is arranged in a traditional bunkhouse style. There are two sizes of dormitories - four beds and 12 beds. There is a 12 bed dorm, available to women only. The four beds dormitories have two bunk beds and can be booked for three to four persons if you are traveling in a group. The accommodation is basic, and all rooms have access to shared bathroom facilities. Bedding is provided, but you will need to bring your own towel.

Be Yoga Retreats UK Itinerary

Each of BE Yoga Retreats has a theme running through the weekend such as mudra and bandha, Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, and The five Sheaths of Consciousness. The theme for this retreat will be the Five layers of the body known as the Five Koshas. These are the sheaths of consciousness.

Friday

  • 16:30 Arrival, time to settle and have your welcome Indian head massage
  • 18:00 Yoga class - the physical layer grounding in the physical body
  • 19:15 Dinner
  • 20:30 Yoga Nidra or deep relaxation

Saturday

  • 07:00 Early morning grounding meditation on the Earth element and physical body
  • 07:30 Morning yoga class - the physical layer continued
  • 08:45 Breakfast
  • 10:15 Pranayama workshop
  • 11:00 Yoga class - opening the breath and energy body
  • 12:45 Lunch
  • 13:30 Free time; relax, read a book, have a massage, or go for a walk
  • 15:30 Meditation on the mind sheath
  • 16:15 Yoga class on the Manomaya Kosha
  • 18:30 Dinner
  • 20:00 Vedic chanting workshop - The Ma Aham Mantra

Sunday

  • 07:00 Early morning meditation
  • 07:30 Yoga class - The Intuitive Body
  • 09:00 Breakfast
  • 10:00 Walking meditation
  • 11:00 Restorative yoga class - Bliss Body

All activities are weather dependent, BE Yoga Retreats will try to run as many activities at the outdoor as possible.

Instructores

Elise Beechen
Originally from Devon, Elise is a qualified teacher of yoga and dance and holds the UK's highest qualification in sports and remedial massage. Elise has been practicing yoga for over ten years and since becoming a group fitness instructor in 2006, she has coordinated and taught fitness programs in health clubs and resorts across the UK and Europe. A patient and enthusiastic teacher, Elise is deeply fascinated by the many physical and psychological benefits of yoga and is keen to share her knowledge and experience.

The retreat takes place at The Court Hill Centre that is beautiful, rural and tranquil, located in the Vale of the Whitehorse in Wantage, Oxfordshire. Surrounded by rolling hills and beautiful countryside, it is the perfect place to unwind and escape the stresses of everyday life.

The menu is lovingly prepared by Becky and Elise's parents and experienced retreat caterers Kathy and Bob. They provide delicious home cooked vegetarian cuisine, always healthy but very tasty.

In between the activities, there is some free time for you to relax, during which you can go for a walk, relax in the grounds, read a book, or have a massage.

Welcome Indian head massage is included in the price. Massage for 45 minutes is available at an extra cost with experienced therapists. Elise practices soft tissue and remedial massage therapy, which means that she can help you with injuries or long standing aches and pains as well as offer a deeply relaxing massage treatment.

Arrival by train

The Court Hill Centre is two miles south of Wantage just off the A338 Wantage to Hungerford road, and a quarter mile from the Ridgeway National Trail. Nearby train stations are at Didcot and Oxford, and there are good road links via the M4 and M40.
