This dual yoga teacher training is an intensive course that offers the opportunity to graduate and become a Multi-Style Yoga Teacher (Hatha, Vinyasa and Ashtanga Vinyasa) as well as a Yoga for Health Care professional (Yoga Therapist). After successfully completing the course you will be able to register two yoga teaching certifications with Yoga Alliance and start teaching the above styles anywhere in the world. This yoga program is conducted by Banjaara Yoga teachers who have years of teaching experience in India and Internationally, who will give you the best insight about what being a yoga teacher means, along with their knowledge about Yoga and its wide range of techniques. This program is suitable for practitioners of all levels, from beginners to advanced.
You are able to choose from cozy double rooms, for single or double occupancy. All rooms have attached bathrooms with hot water and Wi-Fi access.
This week is dedicated to Vinyasa yoga. During this week you will get introduced to the main and most important concepts of modern vinyasa yoga, how to coordinate movement and breath, how to sequence a professional Yoga Asana class to respond to students needs, how to modify important asanas and transition between asanas in a safe way to prevent injuries, etc. Surya Namaskar Ashtanga Vinyasa Style (A&B) will be introduced in this week as well as Chandra Namaskar (Moon Salutation).
By now the students will have already started learning about yogic/Ayurvedic Anatomy and Western anatomy, pranayama practice and meditation techniques are also an important part of this week as well as lectures and workshops on alignment and hands-on adjustments. History, Ashtanga yoga of Patanjali (8 limbs of yoga) philosophy and classical yoga books will also be discussed and explained in depth during this 2nd and the following 3rd week of the teacher training.
Explores and deepens into the practice of Ashtanga vinyasa yoga. You will study the roots and lineage of this style and practice the Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga primary series in a progressive way with guided and Mysore style practices. You will learn and practice drishtis, pranayama and bandhas that are characteristic of this practice as well as gaining a more profound knowledge about other practices such as Mudras, Meditation techniques and Mantras. Practicums, adjustment and alignment workshops, teaching methodology lectures, anatomy classes and the use of props will continue throughout the 3rd week just as in week 1 and 2.
Serves to revise the knowledge gain in the previous 2 weeks, clarify doubts, practice the tools and concepts learnt during the Yoga course, submit assignments, participate in practicums, discuss about business aspects of being a Yoga teacher as well as the ethical code of professional Yoga teaching and additional classes to revision of the whole process.
This is an introductory week into the science, philosophy and practices of Hatha yoga which will give the needed understanding to develop a foundation in yoga therapy. The focus of this week will be on learning alignments, adjustments and variations of the asana practices, pranayama and meditation techniques with benefits and limitations, traditional Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation), Mantra chanting philosophy and history of Hatha yoga.
The students will also put into practice what they have learned during teaching methodology classes and have the first contact with teaching during practicums. The first week is designed to create a good physical, mental and theoretical foundation to progress through the rest of the teacher training safely and confidently.
During this part of the course you will learn and study the main concepts and implications of Ashtanga philosophy as well as relevant concepts of the classical texts. Ayurveda and yogic physiology along with western anatomy will be further developed in this week. You will also practice and learn Kriya techniques (cleansing processes) to purify the physical and energetic body, learn how to design a yoga pPractice to reverse health conditions, get acquainted with the Chakra and Nadi systems, attend lectures and workshops on restorative Yoga and deepen the knowledge about the various Pranayama techniques with their applications to recover from illness.
You will be able to attend lectures on yogic psychology, principles of prenatal yoga, adjustment and alignment workshops. You will be able to relate and understand Hatha yoga & Ashtanga yoga philosophy with the body/mind general well being. You will also learn about the yogic concept of diet and lifestyle, learn how to identify and classify food according to their different Pranic(energetic) values, more lectures on Ayurveda and yogic physiology will provide a further understanding of the human body/mind. Besides, daily pranayama, Kriya and asana practices will help you become established in your practice and realize their beneficial effect on the body and the mind.
The final part of the teacher training that serves to revise the knowledge gain in previous weeks, clarify doubts, practice the tools and concepts learnt during the yoga course, submit assignments, participate in practicums, discuss about how to become a successful yoga teacher as well as a yoga therapist and the ethical code of professional yoga teaching and additional classes to revision of the whole process.

The nearest Domestic Airport is Dharamsala Kangra Airport, Gaggal (DHM), roughly 60-90 minutes drive from Bhagsu. The Airport is well connected to a spectrum of cities in the country. The second nearest International Airport is Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport, Amritsar (ATQ) roughly 218 kilometers from the city. It is well connected to several major cities like Pathankot, Dalhousie, Delhi and Jammu.
Most people come to Dharamsala by bus, as the nearest rail-head is at Pathankot (Punjab), around 90 kilometers away. It has good connections with other parts of Northern India, although the journeys are often slow due to the narrow, winding roads in the hills.
The main bus terminal is in Lower Dharamsala, but some public HRTC buses to Delhi and Pathankot go all the way to the main square of McLeod Ganj, where you can also book advance tickets for the return trip.
Buses from Pathankot cost around 120 INR and take 4 hours to reach Dharamsala/McLeod Ganj. Once in Dharamsala, if your bus does not go all the way to McLeod Ganj, another bus can take you the rest of the way for 14 INR and a journey lasts approximately 15 to 20 minutes.
Private bus companies are available for travel from Manali, Dehradun and Delhi. Overnight buses operate from New Delhi with many leaving from the Tibetan colony of Majnu ka Tilla. These services take around 13 hours and cost from 600 INR for a basic bus to 1100 INR for a plusher Volvo. Tickets for Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC- A State Government body) can be booked online from Chandigarh, which is 236 kilometers far from McLeodganj, and a grueling 8-9-hour trip in an ordinary bus.
The nearest broad gauge rail-head is at Pathankot and the neighboring small station of Pathankot Cantt, a comfortable overnight journey from Delhi. Train buffs can continue on the very slow and rickety, but pretty Kangra Valley Railway to Kangra, a journey that easily takes up to 6 hours and still leaves you around 25 kilometers from McLeod Ganj. Many travelers choose to continue from Pathankot towards Dharamsala by bus or taxi. If you do choose to travel to Kangra by train, then from the train station, you will need to hire an autorickshaw to reach the bus stand, where buses are available to take you to Dharamsala.
If coming by Pathankot station (PTK), the Pathankot bus station is just across from the railway with buses plying for Dharamsala. Pathankot Cantt (PTKC) is 3-4 kilometers from the bus stand/PTK station - rickshaws are aplenty. The 4-hour bus ride to Dharamsala costs 120 INR per person. Once in Dharamsala, another bus can take you to McLeod Ganj for 14 INR, and a 15-20-minute ride.
