This 100-hour yoga for health care teacher training specialization is a recognized Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Program. During the course, you will deepen your knowledge in aspects of yoga that are directly related to the wellbeing of the body, mind, and soul. Wellness Inn Hotel is located in the heart of Ashvem Beach in North Goa. It offers a multi-cuisine restaurant with accommodation in 12 standard air-conditioned hotel rooms in Ashvem Beach. You are able to choose from cozy double rooms (for single or double occupancy) and spacious family rooms which are suitable for two or four people. All rooms have attached bathrooms with hot water, air conditioning, and Wi-Fi access.


You will explore Shatkriyas (cleansing processes) in depth as well as acquire a deeper understanding of the body functions and how to counteract imbalances among its systems to prevent or reverse damaging health conditions such as depression, high blood pressure, stress, back pain, diabetes, and other issues that many people encounter during their life.

After this course, you will have a firm understanding of the energetic (pranic) body and its relation to the rest of the body systems in order to obtain balance with the help of yoga. Specifically, this course also covers:

  • History, philosophy, and values of yoga
  • Daily asana practice (Hatha, Vinyasa, and Restorative yoga)
  • Role of Ashtanga yoga and Hatha yoga as holistic methods
  • Study and analysis of yogic lifestyle diet
  • Patanjali Yoga Sutras, Hatha Yoga Pradipika, and Bhagavad-Gita
  • Principles of yoga psychology
  • Asana labs for health management
  • Use of Shatkriyas, pranayama, and mudras for health recovery
  • Principles of prenatal yoga
  • Yoga and health care class planning
  • Principles of Ayurveda and its different techniques
  • In-depth study of Shatkriya (cleansing processes)
  • Physiology of health conditions (yoga for back problems, yoga for diabetes, yoga for hypertension, yoga for arthritis, etc.)

Applicants to this course must hold a 100-hour Hatha / Vinyasa yoga teacher training issued by Banjaara Yoga & Ayurveda or a 200-hour yoga teacher training course from an institution recognized by Yoga Alliance issued maximum 23 months prior the commencement of the course. Yoga teachers currently registered with Yoga Alliance may also apply to this course.

After teaching in North America, the UK, and taking part as a leading teacher in Hatha and pranayama in yoga teacher trainings in India, Jose realized the need for a new understanding of teaching for the modern yoga students, where the original values of yoga would not be compromised by the new learning tools and trends. His understanding about yoga has led him to conduct classes that are a perfect blend between traditional Hatha and modern Vinyasa, with a strong focus on alignment and mindful breathing. In his classes, he strives to find the balance to challenge the mind and body.
Madhura Bhagwat
Yoga Alliance RYT 500 (Yoga)
Madhu is from a Hindu, from a Brahmin family. Therefore, yama, niyama, and mantra chanting have been part of her daily life. She has a wide experience of practicing with the best traditonal Indian and Western yoga teachers. ​While working as a leading Ashtanga Vinyasa and yogic philosophy teacher in the teacher trainings in North America and the Indian subcontinent, she then realized how necessary it is to bring back the true meaning of what yoga really is, the perfect union between body, mind, soul and the Panchamahabhutas.

Banjaara Yoga & Ayurveda is based in Ashvem beach, which is a beautiful beach located in the heart of North Goa and all attractions worth visiting are conveniently nearby. Mandrem beach is less than half a mile away and it’s one of the biggest and the most peaceful beaches in North Goa, perfect for a morning walk.

Around 1.8 miles to the north from Ashvem is Arambol beach, which is best visited during sunset to enjoy famous drum circle and soak in the careless hippie atmosphere. For an authentic Goa shopping experience, Wednesday Anjuna Flea Market and Saturday Night Market in Arpora are the places to go.

Driving directions from Goa International Airport (GOI) or Baga / Calangute area

  • From Calangute or Baga, take a straight road to the north (towards Siolim).
  • On the Siolim junction, follow the mail road going to the left and cross Siolim bridge.
  • On the fork on the road about 500 meters after the bridge, take left following the sign Morjim.
  • After two kilometers, take the right turn following the sign Morjim V.P.
  • Continue along the road for one kilometer until you reach a T junction, take the left turn following the sign Ashwem.
  • After one kilometer, take the first turn right to Ashvem Beach Road following the sign.
  • After three kilometers, you will see Wellness Inn on the right-hand side of the road.

Driving directions from Arambol / Mandrem area

  • From Arambol, go to Mandrem village following the Siolim Road.
  • One kilometer after Mandrem Market, you will see a right turn after HDFC bank. Take the turn and proceed straight for about one kilometer, passing a church on your left until you reach a fork on the road.
  • Take the right at the fork following the sign Ashwem Beach / Morjim.
  • Continue along this road for one kilometer until you reach Wellness Inn on the left-hand side.

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Goa International Airport (GOI). Transfer from the airport is included. Banjaara Yoga & Ayurveda will pick you up from the airport.
