You will be accommodated for two nights in a shared accommodation or camp. The powerful natural setting of Anahata, overlooking Golden Bay and the nearby Abel Tasman National Park, inspires and deepens your sense of place and helps you to go deeper into the practices. Participants will be guided through the Gayatri Sadhana through the uses of asanas (body postures), pranayama (breathing techniques), mudras (gestures), mantra chanting, meditation, and trataka (a practice of steady gazing of an object).

Alongside these practices, you will be welcomed to join in the day-to-day activities at Anahata such as yoga Nidra (deep relaxation), Karma yoga (actions with meditative awareness), and a fire ceremony for healing, peace, and wellbeing. This retreat is open and suitable for people of any level of yogic experience.
Swami Muktibodha is considered internationally to be a leading exponent of classical yoga and meditation and has been honored with the title of Acharya (master) of yoga. She has achieved international renown for her commentary on the Hatha Yoga Pradipika. She filters these deep practices and concepts through her down-to-earth Western eye, making them accessible and useful for all. Well versed in the scientific as well as traditional aspects of yoga, she is currently based in Brisbane, Australia teaching and lecture both locally and internationally.
Anahata Yoga Retreat is located in beautiful Golden Bay, New Zealand, in the northwest part of the South Island. It is situated 640 meters (2000 feet) above sea level, at an idyllic spot called Bird's Clearing, overlooking Golden Bay and the Abel Tasman National Park. The closest town is Takaka. Please note that Anahata is half an hour away from any shops, banks, or internet cafes. Please attend to any needs in town before you come to Anahata.
The two closest airports are Takaka Aerodrome (KTF) (limited service link) and Nelson Airport (NSN). Anahata Yoga Retreat is 15 kilometers from Takaka, with the last seven kilometers being unsealed. You will have to cross five small fords. A 4WD vehicle is helpful, but many people drive up in 2WD cars without any problem.

Nelson Airport (NSN) is the main national airport for the region and is a two-hour drive from Takaka. Alternatively, you can fly directly from Wellington International Airport (WLG) to a small airport in Takaka, Takaka Aerodrome (KTF).
Golden Bay Coachlines offers daily services from Nelson to Takaka departs Nelson daily at 15:30, arriving in Takaka at 17:45.
You will have a complimentary pick-up on Friday, February 9, 2018 at 14:00 in Takaka I-site and a complimentary drop-off on Monday, November 11, 2018 at 11:00 back to Takaka I-site.
