Aliya Galim Bali Yoga Teacher Training Program

There is no strict prerequisite for this course, but desire to learn and share from space of heart. If you want to delve into the fundamental knowledge of yoga, want to develop and form your own style with or without intentions to teach, want to explore the art of teaching from your authentic Self, broaden your yogic knowledge and experience, and hone your existing skills, join this Somatic Yoga Movement circle.

The concept of Somatic Movement in this course is based on:

  • The studies and practice of Somatic body movement, which means connecting physical and mental levels during the practice. Building proprioceptive and kinesthetic awareness. It is a completely new approach to apply on the mat. It is a means to re-pattern the neurological connections that govern movement. It is based on 4 principles: breath, core support, dynamic alignment and spatial intent. Its goal is to reawaken a student's awareness of muscles and joints that are not used, used inadequately or misused, so that she or he can extend movement possibilities in both energy and expressiveness. Course is influenced by methods of Bartenieff Fundamentals, Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, Somatic Experiencing, Taoist energy healing.

Techniques, training and practice

  • Asana lab focuses on the understanding of the nature of asanas (yoga postures), their physiology and application. You will practice, discuss and analyze poses and transitions.
  • Breath lab - you will master the art of breath in theory and practice. Experience how breathing correctly benefits and deepens your life and practice. When you use this powerful connection yourself, you will be able to pass it along to your clients.
  • Meditation lab - training is enriched with different daily meditation to help you find the techniques that resonate most with you. You will learn to sequence and guide meditations yourself and how to use your voice as an effective and influential tool.

Yoga styles

You will practice and learn to lead following styles of yoga asana: hatha, vinyasa, yin, kundalini, empowering, creative and restorative classes. You will take a look into each style and understand the differences between them and why these differences exist. This will allow you to find the style that matches your mind and body as an additional bonus you will be practicing zen flow yoga, Taoist healing techniques, Budokon yoga, and Partner yoga.

Anatomy and physiology

This part of the course is for you to understand the incredible intelligence embedded within your body’s ecosystem, that continuously develops on a cellular and universal level - from embryo to the present moment. Aliya Galim emphasize on understanding how the body works as a whole wise organism, rather than memorizing Latin names of muscles and bones.

Why does your body feel and move this or that way… The main anatomical source of information will be your own body and movement, and engaging in hands-on exercises to transfer this knowledge to your clients. The goal is to leave you feeling embodied!

Art of teaching

Discover the 5 languages of teaching. When you master these skills you can speak these ‘languages’ not only in yoga class, but in your daily life. How to create effective sequences, develop a class that allows your clients to move deeper into their understanding of themselves, and teach in a way that let’s your personality shine forth? These are the questions this course aims to help you to explore, so that the way you live is an example that teaches others.

The transforming point of any practice is when you are to able see yourself in that action. For this to happen, teaching practicum sessions will be filmed. Videos will be shared only within the group and class discussion. These videos are your key learning material. When one is unable to see him/herself moving and holding space for others, he/she ends up creating an illusionary perception of self. You can correct and develop yourself while being supported by every member of the group. This allows you to learn how to receive and give feedback with discernment rather than judgement.

Course highlights

Shamanic breathwork

A practice of deep activation of the unconscious level through dynamic breath that releases energetic blockages and traumas. These practical elements will help balance the mind, body and emotions because if unresolved issues linger in your everyday life, you cannot unleash your pure potential to serve others.

Mauna - silence

Tremendous gift of silence (in Sanskrit “Mauna”) will open up a new dimensions of your personality. Consider it a detox remedy for your mind and body.

Sacred ceremonies

Ceremonies have been held throughout time to deepen people's connection with nature, themselves, and their human tribe. Traditional Balinese cleansing ceremonies, moon meditation, sacred Cacao ceremonies will be conducted to profoundly experience this connection.

Other elements

These include ecstatic dance, Tao healing practice, chanting, kirtan, and much more!

Certification

This course is not designed to create another generic yoga teacher or to give you a script to teach from. Aliya Galim want to give you the tools to be an effective and unique. The aim is to inspire you to become a conscious mover who can understand, observe, explain, accept, and adapt to the ever shifting experiences, that life presents before you, so that you can apply these vital concepts to yourself and anyone else.

The 200-hour program meets the standard requirements of Yoga Alliance USA. Additional offerings have been added to enrich the program to facilitate this experience being both informative and transformational.

As the result of this course, you will be eligible to guide yin, vinyasa, hatha, and kundalini classes, meditation, yoga nidra, and pranayama. The status you gain is 200-hour certified yoga teacher of Somatic Yoga Movement by Yoga Alliance USA.

As a bonus to the Pracricum sessions, you will taste following styles: Zen Flow, Taoist Healing alchemy and Budokon Yoga.

Aliya is an internationally accredited yoga Instructor, E-RYT 200, RYT 500. Yoga turned her life upside down, extracted her out of 16 years of corporate world and native country Kazakhstan. Today Aliya is travelling around the world, sharing her knowledge with beautiful people. Keys of her practice are built around conscious movement, dance and breath. Aliya developed programs for women and couples that allow participants to realize their self-love. She is inspired by Budokon by Cameron Shayne (yoga and martial arts style) and 5Rhythm dance by Gabrielle Roth (therapeutic liberating dance).
Cher Joy Jones
A life full of wild adventures and many injuries lead Cher to the physical practice of yoga in 2007. This quickly became a self-healing path that lead her to an intimate connection with her body, allowing freedom from physical pain, and opened her mind to understand the interconnectedness of everything and the ever-present bliss inside. After her first year of private one-to-one classes on Maui with Ted Surman, she spent the last few years traveling, studying, and teaching yoga in Hawaii, India, Indonesia, Thailand, China, Peru, Guatemala, and Mexico, before finally finding Kura Kura.
Chris Sakowski
India Yoga Alliance RYT 500 (Yoga)
“Be in sync with the drums of your heart” - this advice has stuck with Chris ever since he quit his job in the corporate banking world in 2012 and started his yoga teacher training whilst traveling the world. Following his inner tune has lead Chris to teach yoga classes, trainings, and workshops throughout the world, particularly in India and his native United States. He completed his 500-hour YTT in India, and also 300 hours of training in Thai massage in Thailand. With this background, Chris likes to take a hands-on approach to classes and enjoys teaching and practicing a variety of styles.

This yoga teacher training will take place at Kura Kura Yoga Retreat at the shore of Bali, Indonesia. It offers you an oasis of serenity, a sanctuary for the body, heart, and mind. It is a perfect ground to rejuvenate and immerse into the magic of Bali. It is located in a traditional fishing village, untouched by major tourism but close enough to the shops and buzz of Seminyak and on walking distance from Echo Beach, a famous Bali surf spot.
