The New Year retreats are very popular, and AdventureYogi has been running them since 2007 to bring you the best combination of celebration and peace to welcome in the new year.

During this retreat, you will stay at AdventureYogi's retreat venue in Stonegate, East Sussex, England. The crow and ewe cottages have two twin rooms, one with en-suite and shower and the other with a separate bathroom with bath. They both have a spacious living room and kitchen. The calf shed cottage has en-suite bathrooms, one with a shower and the other with a shower and bath. Both rooms can be a twin or a double.
The retreats of AdventureYogi are wonderful in the winter with silent walks to the sunrise, yoga classes, relaxing treatments, as well as delicious wholesome, warming, and nourishing healthy food.
For the New Year, they offer a setting intention workshop to let go of what is not needed from the previous year and what you would like to create in the New Year. There is a special evening schedule to bring the New Year in, which includes setting of intentions, meditation, a delicious vegetarian feast, and dancing.
This retreat is perfect for those who want to get away from the usual New Year celebrations, feel healthy and alive, and set positive intentions for the year ahead. It is alcohol-free over New Year so that you can really start the year feeling a healthy buzz naturally.
The retreat begins from 4:00 p.m. on December 30, with time to settle in before the first yoga class at 5:30 p.m. Dinner will be served at 7:30 p.m. New Year's Eve and New Year's Day have their own special schedules. Below is an example of a well-being retreat schedule, and the New Year one is extra special and a surprise! The retreat ends at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning after a yoga class and breakfast.
The classes are suitable for all abilities, from beginners to intermediate and advanced levels. Everyone is welcome. AdventureYogi has a range of inspiring and experienced teachers who are well practiced at adapting the class for everyone’s level.
Whether it be Vinyasa Flow, Hatha, Ashtanga, Sivananda, Yin, or others, all classes cover pranayama, asanas, and meditation to help increase oxygen flow, balance, and clarity and to promote a peaceful mind. Morning sessions are a more dynamic practice, and the evening sessions are gentle with lots of stretches, meditation, and relaxation.
Louise has spent time living at the Sivananda Ashram in Kerala, India, learning Hatha series and living a yogic lifestyle. She has traveled around India learning from different yoga teachers. She also trained to teach Vinyasa flow yoga in the foothills of the Himalayas and trained in trauma sensitive yoga which brings the therapeutic and mindfulness aspect of yoga to help heal sufferers of trauma and stress. Her classes have a strong focus of heart opening, releasing emotions, acceptance, and being present. She teaches a mixture of energizing flow yoga and a slower mindful practice.
This retreat will be held in Stonegate, East Sussex, England. It is only one hour from London and Brighton, set in the stunning area of the High Weald. The High Weald stretches across Kent and Sussex and it is one of the best surviving medieval landscapes in Northern Europe. It is a beautifully scenic area with rolling countryside, meadows, hills, and woodlands.

AdventureYogi believes that the retreats should be nurturing in every way. The chefs will create tasty, healthy, vegetarian meals for you from local, seasonal produce. All the food is gently detoxing, and various dietary preferences can be catered. Guests are always impressed by the creative, flavorsome dishes, and that is because the food is just as important as the yoga itself.
During the retreat, you will be served delicious breakfasts, lunches, and dinners from one of their expert in-house chefs. You will also be provided with early-morning hot water and lemon or herbal teas with nut snacks to boost your energy levels pre-yoga.
For the New Year, you will indulge in a four-course supper with mocktails and canapes for that extra special evening. AdventureYogi chefs have their own individual flair and genius to produce high-quality vegetarian dishes. They offer fresh, local, seasonal, and nutritious meals.
The New Year retreats are a time for you to slow down and relax, away from the hype and excesses that are Christmas and New Year. AdventureYogi provides lots of fun and interesting activities, and it is up to you if you decide to join in or simply take time out for you.
AdventureYogi's own highly experienced therapists are also on hand to soothe away your aches and pains. Choose from an array of wonderful different massages, facials, and Reiki, depending on your retreat and the therapists available. The treatment costs 38 GBP for a 30-minute session and 65 GBP for one hour.
There are trains that run every hour from London Charing Cross, Cannon Street, and Waterloo East, and they take one hour and 10 minutes. Please catch the recommended train times below, and AdventureYogi will organize a taxi share for you.
