The accommodation options are on private, double, triple, and dorm room occupancy basis. The retreat center offers everything you need, such as a garden surrounded by 71 hectares of nature to make beautiful walks, a bio-pool to refresh, a massage hut in the middle of nature, and a meditation, yoga, and relaxing hall.
With A Lotus Seed, you can count on extensive expertise and the spirit and warmth of the community. They focus on the power of meditation, the brain, mind, body, and heart and the linkages between. They believe in bringing in bringing neuroscience, compassion practices, and the link between Eastern and Western psychology into the picture for a holistic understanding. They start from experience rather than theoretical and mental constructs.
You will start the day with a rejoicing alignment-based Iyengar yoga to strengthen your muscles and get energized to move more easily throughout the day. After a healthy breakfast, the morning meditation session forms the core of the program in which you will meditate, reflect, and learn about the broader context of brain, body, and mind.
In the afternoon, there is enough free time to explore the region, go to the beach, make some beautiful walks, read a good book, dive into the bio-pool, take a massage, or join in one of the group activities if you wish to. There is also a Restorative or Yin yoga in the afternoon to relieve deep tension from the muscles with gentle passive stretching. In the evening, there will be a relaxation session with reflection about the day and at times an optional moonlight walking.
The meditation practices have been showing psychological and neurological benefits, activating brain parts linked to focus, awareness, creativity, positive feelings, cognitive flexibility, and empathy and compassion for yourself and others.

This retreat is suitable for both beginners and experienced meditators.
MBSR-MBCT is a combination of mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) and mindfulness-based cognitive training (MBCT) and are the most widely researched meditation programs in the world. Self-compassion-, heart- and metta- practices complements mindfulness in strengthening positive neural pathways. A Lotus Seed integrates both and adds insights from neuro-science and Buddhism to deepen the practice.
The program formally ends on Friday, late evening of October 6, 2017 but you will be able to have a nice breakfast and yoga session on October 7, 2017 in order to unwind before leaving to the airport.
Geraldine believes that each and everyone is their own best teacher but they can use guidance in making the mind fit for their purpose. She sees herself as a guide on your path, rather than a teacher. After years of practice, she followed an intensive teacher training course from the Institute of Mindfulness in Belgium. She was taught by David Dewulf, Mark Williams, Christina Feldman, John Peacock, Chris Germer, Kristin Neff as well as monks in various monasteries across Europe and Asia.
Anna is a certified Hatha yoga teacher and teaches slow flow classes with a strong foundation in classic, alignment-based Iyengar and Yin yoga. Her style is soft and gentle as it is powerful. Anna's journey on the yoga mat has brought her closer to herself and opened her heart to her inner truth. Oh and besides that, she's a gentle and loving human being, nature and peace lover, and a great inspiration!
Geraldine De La Vigne
Geraldine has been working as a holistic massage therapist for the past five years in Brussels and on different retreats around the world. She followed a three-year intense body-mind therapist education at Atmaram School in Brussels. She is a certified Reiki Usui practitioner and on top of that, passed the university certificate in Equine therapy in Louvain-La-Neuve.
The retreat will take place in Odemira, Alentejo, in the midst of Portugal's most beautiful nature, within the Natural Reservation Park of Costa Vicentina, and not too far from Portugal's wild scenic coastlines.
You will be served with three healthy vegetarian meals using home-grown vegetables and local ingredients, cooked by one of the most amazing Brazilian chefs there.

Please book your flight to arrive at Lisbon Portela Airport (LIZ). Afterwards, you will drive together to the retreat center. Rented cars will be shared among participants, which cost around 65 EUR per person for a whole week.
