"I'm feeling so happy, refreshed, healthy and grateful for this life and body after a wonderful week at Omassim! Lia and her husband Eduardo own the retreat - he does all the cooking, there’s an array of delicious and creative vegetarian foods and flavors and plenty of it! I never went hungry and have been inspired to recreate dishes at home. Lia teaches the morning yoga and she’s one of the best yoga instructors I’ve had. She does Vinyasa flow. At night there’s meditation and another yoga sesh with a woman called Olga, who is also good. They split the Surfing up from beginners to intermediate - and the trainers are very patient with the newbies and if you're a bit more experienced and confident they take you out the back to catch the unbroken waves giving tips while you're out there but letting you do your own thing. The water is cold because it’s the Atlantic (which doesn’t warm up) but they give you wet suits and booties, which you need because the ground is rocky, so they protect your feet. I never felt cold in the water, in fact I found it to be quite refreshing. I did the lot: yoga, surfing, all meals and a massage. I think this is the best way to do it because it's not close to an array of restaurants etc. so everyone eats together, plays together, sleeps together, etc. so you become really close with everyone. The Ayurvidic massage was incredible too, almost spiritual. In your down time you can just laze by the pool or in the hammocks with the rolling farm hills in the background. It really is so picturesque. Or you can walk into Ericeira which is an hour from the retreat. There were all sorts of people: friends, families, singles - and it’s a nice way to travel if you’re on your own because they organised everything for you and its easy to make friends with like minded people around you. It's a great price for the quality and experience you receive. Extras are optional so you can pick and choose what you take part in, but I'm so happy I did it all. Since I've been home I've not stopped talking it to everyone/anyone who will listen. I couldn't recommend it enough. Thank you Lia, Eduardo, Olga, Zarka and the guys at Progress Surf School for a wonderful week! I want to go back now!"

"I'm arrived in Ericeira, I didn’t know anybody there, and then I was introduced to Joana, the surf babe in town. She took me by my hand and showed me the beauty of Ericeira. Joana showed us how to surf, how to feel the waves, how to treat them, how to catch them and to cherish them as long I could. What a feeling!"
