The hotel is very clean with great facilities. The staff are all very friendly, smiling and can't do enough. The rooms are spacious and well designed. Margarida and Anastasia from guest relations are fabulous! Margarida is very kind and efficient arranging a birthday cake and cava for my husband's birthday courtesy of the hotel and also for our anniversary. Anastasia babysat our two boys whilst we went to eat the tasting menu in the gourmet adult only restaurant which was well worth the visit. The boys loved Anastasia and had a ball with her in the kids club and later watching a film in the room.
Downside is the buffet gets a bit monotonous, but buffets generally do. The pool area needs a bit of TLC which I believe is going to be done in September, and the kids club could be a bit more imaginative and is generally aimed at children from 5 to 12 years. Ana the lady there is not very enthusiastic or upbeat and my boys were always reluctant to go due to that. She always looked like she'd rather be somewhere else.
We spent a week there and had a ball. On the whole it is fabulous, relaxing, enjoyable, and staff are great.

We are a family of five. We loved staying one week in this hotel. It was a great experience. The pools for adults and separate for children, the dinner buffet, staff was very professional and nice. And great location, by the beach, the beautiful praia da Falésia.

We have just returned from a very enjoyable stay at this beautifully designed hotel. We usually go for a smaller resort and hotel but having seen the reviews, despite it being in a busier part of the Algarve, we decided to give it a try.
We booked with a Jet2 package and just went for the resort view rooms with the half board option, which compared to what others seem to have paid we felt was a really good deal, which included a seemless private transfer for four of us from the airport and back.
The rooms, our deluxe doubles were really nice, spacious and well looked after. People had noted you had to watch people in the loo etc, but the screens for the bathroom pull right around so you do get some noise but it was not a problem. There is a very large bath which looks nice but not sure anyone tried before ordering hundreds since it's not too comfy to sit in but none the less it was a great bathroom. Even these relatively cheap room have a lovely balcony. To be honest we thought we preferred them to the pool or garden view since they were quieter, even ours above reception!
The food we had for both breakfast and dinner was very nice and while not very imaginative, there was lots of good salad, seafood, and meat plus delicious deserts. The wine to order with dinner ranged from about 23 EUR a bottle upwards and was ok if not great for the money. You were very well looked after by staff and could upgrade to other restaurants but for four of us at another 50 EUR each was too much and the buffet was more than nice enough.
One thing is that if you don't ever want to leave the hotel, you will be paying five star prices for all drinks and snacks, about 4 EUR even for a soft drinks and the cocktails only started at 10 EUR. While the staff at dinner and breakfast were lovely, you did feel a little as though there was a push to sell drinks and snacks around the pool during the day with staff walking about all the time taking orders but at the same time not making sure that sun bed tables were properly cleaned during the week at all. That said the pool areas and beds were lovely and the adults pool, a bit smaller but quieter. There were a lot of families, though very nice ones, in August so not a place to go if you prefer only adults but will likely be different out of school hols, although there were a lot of people with pre-school kids too.
We didn't think that the snacks served at the pool bar were really worth the very high prices, and though we were very kindly looked after with a free drink on the first day while waiting for our room, the lunch we ordered to go with them was ok, but not to the standard you would expect of a five star or in fact that we have had in many other hotels in resorts in Algarve and elsewhere.
The lovely beach, with a very nice walkway to it was unfortunately really busy, but you could walk along to get more peace and will certainly be quieter out of season. There was a a lack of beach bar for the hotel and also really it was a miss not looking onto the sea but other good points made up for this. Also there is a a small village square with a number of bars, restaurants and a good supermarket with some pleasant and more down to earth food and drinks and prices. We enjoyed popping here in the afternoon or after dinner.

This is a contemporary hotel with three outdoor pools and one indoor one. The furnishing in the rooms is top rate. Epic Sana Algarve styles itself as a spa and detox retreat and therefore strives to maintain a serene environment. It is away from the hustle and bustle of old and new Albufeira, so rent a car if you want to be up and about around the Algarve. The point of this Epic Sana however, is that you have everything you need including private access to the adjoining beach and nature walks around the grounds. There are also three restaurants on site and nightly entertainment at the hotel's theater. The staff all speak excellent English and are nice but not overly effusive. A classy self contained hideaway. Recommended if your budget allows it.

We were a family of four in two rooms, booked on a half board basis. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and with a well laid out design. Separate bath and good sized shower. Complimentary still water was a nice touch.
The hotel building and interior were contemporary and cool. The pool areas are adequate, but could do with a face lift to give them the wow factor.
The beach is accessible via a wooden staircase which is stunnigly cut through the red hillside leading down to a stunning sandy beach with an amazing backdrop of the red cliffs. Access may be difficult for people with mobility issues.
The breakfast buffet was ample with a cooking station offering omelettes', fried eggs or scrambled eggs. There was something for everyone. The dinner buffet was extensive with a wide variety of tasty interesting choices. Both breakfast and dinner service could be improved. Staff were accommodating and excellent, but during very busy periods seemed stretched. We constantly had to request more coffee and orange juice at breakfast. The policy of keeping bottles of water and wine at a central service station away from the table and serving them from there was a little annoying. We kept asking for them to be left at our table. The gym was adequate but needs a better stock of equipment. Workouts were limited.
All in all we had a wonderful relaxing holiday and with a few refinements this hotel could be top notch.
