Trek the beautiful world-renown Annapurna Base Camp trail to Machapuchare, traveling through varied terrain, stunning wildflowers, white horses, grazing water buffalo. Start each day with an incredible sunrise yoga session amidst the Himalayan backdrop, and end each evening with candlelight meditation.
You will stay for three nights at a Kathmandu hotel, two nights at a Pokhara hotel, and nine nights at lodges during the trek. Basic twin or even triple or quadruple dorm style shares with team members in high mountain trekker lodges where accommodations are very limited for trekkers. These are always fun international hostels for all ages of hardcore trekkers. Proper accommodations are available in cities.
The trek will pass through the area of the world famous Gorkha warrior clan, the Gurung, charming Magar villages, dense rhododendron forests (Nepal's national flower), oak forests full of birds, green hills and patchwork valleys, terraced fields, millions of waterfalls, smiling, warm, welcoming Nepali faces, and rugged mountainous terrain near snow-capped peaks and under crystal blue skies.
Just about every angle is a tantalizing glimpse of Mount Machhapuchhre, or Fishtail (22,942 feet / 6,992 meters), Annapurna (26,545 feet / 8,090 meters), and Dhaulagiri (26,794 feet / 8,116 meters) range. Wait until you experience the morning sunrises illuminating the mighty Himalayan peaks, practicing daily morning yoga saluting the sun, and evening meditation all bundled up, under the stars in these remote pockets of the world.

Upon arrival at Kathmandu International Airport (KTM), the driver will greet you at the airport and will transfer you to the team hotel in Kathmandu. Time to rest and acclimate, walk through Thamel district, shop, and explore. You will spend the night at a Kathmandu hotel.
Fresh local, mostly vegetarian breakfast and opening circle. A full day of sightseeing around ancient UNESCO religious and cultural sites in Kathmandu, Swayambhunath Temple, with stunning views of the city, Boudhanath Stupa, the greatest Tibetan Buddhist stupa in the world and Pashupatinath Temple, one of the most sacred Hindu temples, with cremation vats alongside the river.
The Nepali local guide will escort you on this tour of these important and historic Kathmandu Buddhist and Hindu temples and shrines that so beautifully reflect the local traditions. Lunch at Boudhanath village. Trekking permits will be finalized on this day in preparation for the trekking departure the following day.
In the evening, enjoy a delicious traditional Nepali dinner and Nepali cultural show. Candlelight rooftop meditation for those interested. Overnight in Kathmandu hotel.
You will have a rooftop yoga and breakfast. You will have a seven hours scenic drive to Pokhara, the trek starting point and you will get local lunch along the road. Dinner and overnight at a Pokhara hotel. You will have a rooftop meditation under the stars.
You will have sunrise yoga and breakfast. You will be driven for one a half hours to Nayapul and commence the trek to Birethanti, a large and prosperous town beside the Modi River. You will have a local trekker lunch on the trail. You will head up the main trail to Sudami where you will climb gradually up the side of the valley, reaching Hille (4,904 feet / 1,495 meters) before pushing on to Tikhedhunga. Evening yoga and meditation under the stars.
You will have a sunrise yoga and local breakfast. Enjoy a pleasant day walking, trekking through rhododendron and oak forests and across the Bhurungdi Khola stream before making a short, final climb to Nangethanti (8,070 feet / 2,460 meters). After local trekker lunch in Nangethanti, you will head up to Ghorepani and enjoy jaw-dropping views of the stunning and snowy Dhaulagiri, the world's seventh highest mountain, standing at 8,167 meters.
You will have an overnight in trekker tea house or guesthouse with shower facilities. The temperature there begins to drop significantly, be prepared to bundle up. Evening candlelight meditation under the stars or in a room, temperature dependent.
After an early start at around 5:00 a.m. you will ascend to Poon Hill (10,531 feet / 3,210 meters). This is a steep climb, but not too hard. It will take you about one hour and leads you to a brilliant viewpoint, providing an unobstructed sunrise over the high Himalayas.
After spending about 40 minutes on the hillside and enjoying a warm cup of coffee or tea, you will come back to Ghorepani, have a hot breakfast, and start walking to Tadapani. From Ghorepani, the trail climbs along ridges and through pine and rhododendron forests to Deurali (9,711 feet / 2,960 meters). Local lunch on the trail.
Next, you will descend to reach Banthanti, before winding your way down to Tadapani. Overnight in trekker tea house guesthouse with shower facilities. Evening candlelight meditation.
You will have a sunrise yoga and local breakfast. You will begin the day by dropping down from Tadapani Gurjung the route offers views of the upper Modi Valley. The path then starts the long ascent high above the west bank of the Modi Khola. Local lunch on the trail. You will then arrive in the village of Chhomrong, which lies tucked at the very base of Himal Chuli.
Chhomrong is the last permanent settlement in the valley. The vertical view of Machapuchare from your guesthouse there will blow your mind. Overnight in trekker tea house or guesthouse with shower facilities. Evening candlelight meditation under the stars or in a room, temperature dependent.
You will have a sunrise yoga and local breakfast. From Chhomrong, you will follow the trail as it descends to Chhomrong Khola, then the trail begins a slow climb as you head up to your first destination, Sinuwa. You will then proceed to Kuldi Ghar (8,103 feet / 2,470 meters) about two and a half to three hours walking.
The trek now enters the upper Modi Khola valley. Local lunch on the trail. You will continue the trek going down to Bamboo through an uninhabited forest area, scattered with big rocks. From Bamboo, the road will take you through bamboo and rhododendron forests to Doban. Overnight in trekker tea house and guesthouse with showers. Evening candlelight meditation.
You will have sunrise yoga and local breakfast. After climbing 1,000 feet or 300 meters, you will first pass the Himalayan Hotel at 9,317 feet / 2,840 meters. You will then continue on to Hinko Cave (10,170 feet / 3,100 meters) and then onto Deurali. Local lunch will be on the trail. There, you will also have great views of mind-blowing Machhapuchhre mountain and you will understand why the translation of its name means 'fishtail mountain.
The Deurali guesthouse is sandwiched in between the massive Himalayas and you will stay there for the night to get warm and rest. Evening candlelight meditation.
You will have sunrise yoga and local breakfast. Today, you will climb on past the Machhapuchhre Base Camp to the Annapurna Base Camp. This area is called the Annapurna Sanctuary since it is totally surrounded by mountains. Just wait until you experience being completely surrounded by towering snow-capped 20,000 plus feet Himalayan massifs.
Local lunch on the trail in Machapuchare Base Camp. From there it is a mostly flat, gradual uphill two-hour trek to Annapurna Base Camp, past icy streams, and boulders. Once you arrive at the base camp, it is very exciting and everyone celebrates. You made it! Overnight in Annapurna Base Camp trekker tea house and guesthouse with shower facilities.
Spend time walking around Annapurna Base Camp and staring at the enormous mountains. Enjoy an evening sunset around 6:00 p.m. lighting up the range above the clouds, making you feel as though you are on a different planet. It is a truly miraculous sight to see, on top of the world. Temperatures drop significantly here to below freezing. Be prepared. Evening candlelight meditation under the stars or in a room, temperature dependent.
A chilly sunrise yoga during a captivating mountain sunrise illuminates the mountain peaks on top of the world and local breakfast. Today, you will descend from Annapurna Base Camp to Sinuwa. Enjoy a beautiful walk down and say goodbye to the mountains. Local lunch is on the trail. Overnight in trekker tea house and guesthouse with shower facilities. You will have an evening candlelight meditation under the stars.
You will have sunrise yoga and a local breakfast. From Sinuwa, you will continue to Chhomrong from where the trail descends through forests to Jhinu. Temperatures warm up today and again you can finally shed the cold weather clothing. Your early arrival means you have the afternoon hours free for a much-needed soak in the stunning riverside hot springs.
After arrival in the Jhinu guesthouse, you will enjoy a relaxing lunch before heading down about 20 minutes to the hot springs and bikinis are allowed. Dinner at the guesthouse is followed by candlelight meditation under the stars.
You will have sunrise yoga and a local breakfast. From Jhinu, it's easy walking, all downhill, to Nayapul where the trekking ends (four hours). You will have lunch on arrival. The private transport will drive you to Pokhara, for about an hour and a half away. Dinner, dancing, cultural show, and night out in town to celebrate. You will spend the night at a Pokhara hotel.
You will have rooftop yoga and breakfast. Set out early for the seven-hour drive back to Kathmandu. You will have lunch along the road. Free half day for last minute shopping. Dinner and night out in Kathmandu to see the Laxmi Puja, the main night of Hindu Tihar exciting celebration with lights everywhere and mandala drawings and candles in the streets. You will spend the night at a Kathmandu hotel.
You will a final rooftop yoga session and breakfast at the hotel. You will have a closing circle. Optional flight over Mount Everest departs at 6:00 a.m. Participants are back at the hotel in time for breakfast and international flights. (The price for this Everest flight add-on is 230 USD.) You will be transferred to the airport and departure from Kathmandu.
