During the retreat, you will spend your nights in El Zopilote Organic Farm where you can choose to be accommodated in a camp, hammocks, dorm, or in a private cabin.

You will learn the power of trust, communication, and support through basing, flying, and spotting. You will learn and refine a wide range of foundational elements that will give you the necessary tools to build your AcroYoga practice. In this workshop, you will learn to be soft and strong. You will learn and refine your ability to give and receive flying therapeutics. The basic concepts of receptivity, communication, foundational therapeutic postures as well as transitions from one pose to the next will be covered. Grace in flight and smooth transitions in this workshop. You will learn and refine your ability to transition gracefully in and out of several foundational of AcroYoga poses with a focus towards washing machines. This workshop is for all levels. No experience is necessary and you can come alone or bring a friend.

You will also explore how to use popping as a transition to and from several posses with a focus on tempo, throwing, and catching. Some previous experience are recommended, but no partner is necessary.

Anthony Alcalde began his journey as a healer and teacher in 1998 and now is a 500hr certified yoga and AcroYoga instructor, Thai yoga practitioner, and movement educator. He currently teaches various styles of yoga in Nicaragua, Peru, and internationally, finding balance through giving and receiving, thus celebrating the spirit of connection, empowerment, and playfulness in his life. His services offer an opportunity to reconnect with your inner light and grow the ability to heal from the inside out once he embodies the beauty of trust through his practice of yoga and AcroYoga.
The retreat will happen at the beautiful open yoga platforms at El Zopilote Organic Farm, surrounded by an area that has been recovered and reforested in the last 15 years with a permaculture philosophy. The farm itself is a world of learning by itself, with workshops and permaculture tours that bring you inside the functioning of a sustainable touristic structure. Besides that, Ometepe is a magical island with two volcanos to climb, the lake to refresh, waterfalls to visit and much more!
The farm has a restaurant where you can taste delicious meals with local organic products and experience farm to table nutrition on each day of your intensive retreat. The famous El Zopilote's pizza is included on your package for Saturday night!
From Managua, Granada, San Juan del Sur, or Penas Blancas (the border), you should go to the town of Rivas. From there, you may take a shared taxi (1 USD per person) or a private taxi (3-5 USD) to the port of San Jorge. This will take about 20 minutes. The taxi ranks are situated near the bus station in Rivas. From the port of San Jorge, there are various ferry boats (2 USD per person) or boats (1.50 USD per person) which will take you across the lake to the town of Moyogalpa (one hour from land) or to the town of San Jose del Sur (one and a half hours from land).
From Moyogalpa or San Jose del Sur, you can get a bus to Merida (1 USD per person) or to Balgue (1 USD). If you take the bus to Merida, you must get off in Santa Cruz. The journey will take about two hours and you must ask the bus driver to let you off in Santa Cruz. From there, walk in the direction of Balguefor for about 300 meters until you find the entrance to El Zopilote Organic Farm.
If you take the bus to Balgue, you can get off directly in front of the entrance to the farm. You will spot an old yellow school bus, which is El Zopilote Organic Farm bushop. Ask the bushop girls if there are free places on the farm and if the answer is yes, just walk along the signposted route to the reception (10 minutes' walk). Please note that there are no buses available on Sundays.
From Moyogalpa, you can get a taxi directly to the farm. The journey takes approximately one hour. The taxi drivers offer their services at the port. It is a good idea to contract the price before getting into the taxi. The price depends on the number of passengers and it is usually about 20-25 USD.
