I was welcomed very warmly by the lovely owners Patricia and Christian who made me feel at home from the first minute on. El Alma is not only incredibly beautiful but also extremely well run with attention to every detail. If possible, stay in the Mandala Suite and enjoy the stunning view of the ocean when brushing your teeth. I promise you it does not get better than that!

There is also a deck where you can sunbathe or practice yoga in the morning overlooking the jungle and the ocean - simply spectacular. As part of your stay, you can also use the beach club which is just a few minutes drive away and part of the Four Seasons Hotel - another paradise around the corner with crystal clear water.

But El Alma also has a (chlorine-free!) pool overlooking the ocean. So there is indeed no need to leave the place at all. El Alma is around a 40-minute drive from Liberia airport and conveniently located to many beaches and sights in the area. Overall I had a fantastic time and can only very warmly recommend El Elma - it's simply paradise!

El Alma is a privately owned residence on Costa Rica's Papagayo Peninsula was our home for a week this summer. Its amenities include a generous pool, a huge terrace with a terrific view, a large dining area with adjacent kitchen and generally a beautiful design which made me marvel on more than a few occasions. The rooms are spacious and provide everything you would expect from a villa of this league. Again, I was especially fond of the design, every little detail was chosen with passion. The owners proved very helpful in assisting us with the planning of various activities.

A big plus was the golf cart which is included in the price, by using it the pristine beach is only 10 minutes away. We also indulged in the food and the cocktails at the Beach Club and the Four Seasons Hotel which is also only a short ride away. So in short, I would definitely recommend El Alma for everyone who is looking for a luxurious and rewarding vacation on the Pacific.

Our group stayed at El Alma for a week in July / August and it proved to be a fabulous experience. Three large bedrooms and a generously designed common area, including a patio with ample opportunities for relaxing, were the strong assets. We enjoyed the pool and the jacuzzi while stargazing. The bathrooms were very luxurious with a touch of art design, which goes for the entire villa. El Alma's staff was very attentive and made sure that everything we needed was always available.

The owners are friendly and provide you with all the necessary information about the peninsula and its activities. The villa's location is above the beach on a cliff which offers glorious views. The beach itself is accessible within 10 minutes by golf cart (provided by the owners) or by foot and you can easily spend an entire day there. There is also a beach club which serves nicely prepared food and cocktails. We also enjoyed some of Papagayo's innumerable activities: tennis (grass and har-tru courts), diving (great spots are only a short boat ride away), snorkeling, and mini golf.

Dining options besides the beach club include the nearby Four Seasons Resort, the golf course restaurant and a wide range of establishments in Coco, a 40 minutes ride away. El Alma is a charming paradise with all the amenities we could wish for and we would all definitely come back to one of Costa Rica's most astonishing spots of land.
