This unique yoga retreat offers one week of morning guided self-practice plus 3 afternoons of theory, asana technique and subtle pranayama. In the guided self-practice, John will focus on posture, free breathing and looking for place. When John guides a self-practice class he holds the group as a whole as well as meeting each student as an individual within the group. The energy is welcoming, safe, nurturing, energizing and a powerful group focus arises, the conditions are thus set for the experience to be beneficial and long lasting.

Johns aim is to help each student evolve into an independent practitioner progressing to potentially being able to also pass on the experience of yoga to others. John will challenge each students body, breath, and mind giving guidance through physical and verbal adjustments and instructions where necessary.

There will also be three afternoons of theory, Asana technique and subtle Pranayama. There is only a little amount of information that can be conveyed to the student in guided self-practice classes so John additionally offers 3 afternoons of theory and practical, this gives John an opportunity to explore in greater detail aspects of the practice that may not be reached during the focus of self-practice.

"I had a fabulous time, the weather was amazing. I could hardly believe I was still in Scotland the sun shone every day, which just added to the magical experience of staying at eco yoga. I loved the fact that the abundant hot water was coming from the solar panels and I enjoyed frequent trips to the hot tub and showers throughout my visit and then every night slipped into the wonderful welcoming, sanctuary of a so comfortable bed. Bliss!!"

"The yoga with John, assisted by Jock, was inspiring - I learned so much and deepened my practice and renewed my commitment to it. A note I must add is to recognise the fantastic, wonderful, friendly, caring, happy people working and volunteering at Eco Yoga. What a team. They made me feel welcome and valued - in no small way adding to the overall chilled and relaxed environment of Eco yoga. I've never had a trip like this and I very much hope to return before too long. "

"Our trip to EcoYoga was a physical and emotional overhaul. To be able to completely shut off from the outside world, even for 4 days was a feeling I have never had. Coupled with the art of Yoga and meditation, made it unforgettable. It gave me time to find ME again. We had the opportunity at EcoYoga to experience Scotland from one of its best sides. Surrounded by rolling green hills and beautiful scenery one finds it VERY easy to forget the outside world and spend a few days looking within. An amazingly big thanks to Laura and the entire EcoYoga team on making our trip an unforgettable experience. Being treated with respect, friendliness and patience is so refreshing in this day and age, and the outside-world could learn a thing or two from this amazing team of people."

"It was marvellous! I was very very happy to be back for a second time and everything seemed perfect for me, if anything the website undersells EcoYoga! Great things: spotless rooms, everything I could need available, can make a cup of tea, have some fruit etc., any time I wanted, superb beds, excellent quality yoga classes - flexible approach, individual attention when needed, space to practice alone or in groups, peaceful and safe atmosphere, probably the best vegetarian food I've ever had in my life (and I eat a lot!), and it's consistently great, somewhere to be on your own or in company whenever you fancy it, interesting people to talk to, I could go on (and on). I love it."

"Such a beautiful and inspiring place to be. You must have worked so hard to create such a magical place. I have been enjoying the nature very much and the cleansing of the water. I have laughed so so much that my tummy muscles are aching!! And jumping on the trampoline with Nettah and Lorenz was a very special moment. They are such beautiful children. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you for having us."
