This refreshing Iyengar yoga retreat will take place in Benaulim in south Goa and you will be taught by greatly experienced Iyengar yoga instructors, Lynda Purvis and Gerry Chambers. It will take place in a private house in a quiet and calm area which is ideal for yoga practice. The venue is close to the beach and to the facilities of Benaulim and Colva. You won't regret having this excellent chance.
All ages are welcome as participants.
East West Yoga has reserved several twin-bedded hotel rooms for you to stay in. However, a variety of nearby accommodation options is also available and East West Yoga can provide assistance on this. You are suggested to discuss your requirements with East West Yoga. You are also free to find your own accommodation.
This retreat will take place in Benaulim, Goa, India. The area is ideal for practicing yoga since it is a quiet and calm area. Your accommodation is close to the beach and the facilities of Benaulim and Colva.
The retreat will start at 07:30 on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 and finish mid-day on Friday, January 13, 2017. The classes will run every day except on Sunday, January 8, 2017. Your typical day will start with a one-hour pranayama class and followed by a 30-minute break. The asana class will begin at 09:00 and it will end by 12:00. The rest of the day is all up to you.
Please arrive at Goa International Airport (GOI) and you can have a 40-minute taxi ride to the venue.

A tourist travel visa will be required for you travel to India.

Gerry Chambers has been a qualified Iyengar yoga teacher since 1980. Gerry is from Scotland and became interested in yoga in his mid 20’s when he lived in Canada. At York University in Toronto, he completed a postgraduate degree with a thesis on Zen. He has completed further postgrad studies in Indian Religions at Trinity Saint Davids University, Wales. Gerry moved to Bristol from London in 1999 to set up Yogawest, an Iyengar yoga centre, with his partner Lynda. He now lives in the beautiful county of Devon and travels to India regularly to learn from the Iyengar family.
Lynda Purvis has been a qualified Iyengar yoga teacher since 1990. Lynda is from New Zealand where she began yoga in the 80’s. She arrived in the UK after a few years traveling in Asia and started attending yoga classes in London where she trained as a teacher. From 1999 until 2011, Lynda was the co-owner and director of Yogawest in Bristol. She has been to India on many occasions to attend intensive courses and general classes with the Iyengar family.
