Join Meditation in Motion Yoga Homestay in Thailand's authentic countryside. Enjoy up to three yoga classes every day, live in an actual Thai household in a double room, all inclusive food and drinks, learn about the real Thailand beyond mass tourism, daily excursions to local attractions, markets, temples. This is your unique yoga and Thailand experience!
There are two double rooms for guests in the house in Khonburi with king size beds and fan. Stay in an actual Thai home! It is located in a calm neighborhood but pretty much in the center of the little city Khonburi.
There are markets and shops, restaurants, the bus stop, and laundry service in walking distance and there is a car to give you a lift if required. There is a huge terrace to sit on and relax and a nice, shady garden with fruit trees. They grow their own vegetables.
The kitchen with refrigerator and coffee machine is there for your convenience. Bathroom and toilet are shared with the hosts. Of course, there is Wi-Fi, too. Please notice there are three dogs and a cat, so it would be great if you like animals or at least are not allergic or afraid (they don’t bite).
Earth Yoga Korat is a homestay with yoga that offers you something unique, Thai reality beyond mass tourism. The house is basic but very cozy and it's not built for tourism, but a normal Thai household. The city Khonburi does almost not know international tourists at all.
The sights where they take you are only frequented by locals. And that's basically the crucial point about the homestay, the real, authentic Thailand with the opportunity to meet Thai people who do not work in the tourism industry. It hosts a maximum of four guests at a time to keep a family atmosphere and the tourist impact on the lifestyle of the locals low.
In Khonburi, it is pretty off-the-beaten tourist tracks (easy to get to the place though, they will pick you up). People, food, and prices are authentic. There are no set up attractions for tourists. They can take you where the locals go, their markets, their temples, and introduce you to their lifestyle.
Also, you practice together with the local Thai residents in the living room which becomes a yoga studio every evening. You will be instructed in English, so you can easily follow the classes.
See the beautiful countryside of the Nakhon Ratchasima district through the eyes of the locals. All excursions will take you to sights the mainstream tourist would never reach. Earth Yoga Korat takes you by an air-conditioned car. All sights are no further than a half hour drive away from the accommodation.
The 100 Years Old Wooden Food Bridge in Kok Rachai village leads some 600 meters into the rice fields. Recently renovated, it mostly still consists of the original 100 years old tropical wood it was once built from. With a little bit of luck with the weather spectacular sunsets lead to fantastic pictures of this simply beautiful sight. A coffee shop at the end of the bridge invites to rest and enjoy the scenery.
Wat Khao Chom Thong at the edge of Thap Lan National Park is an evergreen hill with a monastery at its foot. From the parking there you will be hiking some 600 steps through the bamboo forest up to the plateau of the hill. The 360 degrees view over Thap Lan and Khao Yai National Park, the lake and Khonburi district is stunning. The plateau is known as a holy place and has Buddha footprints and a statue. After coming back down you have the option to enjoy a bath at lake Mun Bon with the locals and a lunch picnic.
The 700 years old Khmer temple ruins are located on the ground of a primary school and remind a lot about the temples of Angkor in Cambodia. Close to this site is a beautiful Thai style temple next to a pond full of Lotus. You can be sure your holiday pictures will be unique since almost no international tourists at all know about these fantastic places!
Classes are instructed by Kru Leena, who has studied yoga for over 16 years by now. She has been teaching yoga since 2010. Ever since she has been extending her practical and theoretical skills. In 2003 she was certified by Traditional Medical School, 2007 in Pranayama and Yoga Therapy, later certified as registered Yoga Teacher, in Ayurveda and Mama therapy. She has collected broad teaching experience in various studios in Bangkok, as an assistant in yoga teacher training, she organized and run yoga retreats, has her own studio in Bangkok since 2013 and Earth Yoga Korat was founded in 2017.
The yoga studio is located in Khonburi, which is a little town some 60 kilometers south of Nakhon Ratchasima (Korat, called the gateway to Isan) and about 300 kilometers driving distance north-east of Bangkok. Khonburi is right on the north end of Khao Yai national park, close to the lakes Mun Bon and Lam Chae. Most known in the region is the city Nakhon Ratchasima and the Khao Yai national park.
The area has everything but the sea. See the local temples, climb a close by hill and enjoy the breathtaking view over the area, which is surrounded by green hills and characteristic for its seemingly endless rice fields. There is all kind of Thai food, markets, and historical sights. There are the lakes with the possibility of a boat trip or the hundred years old wooden footbridge, leading into the rice fields, which became recently an attraction for locals to watch the sunset.
Enjoy a continental breakfast buffet with eggs your style and unlimited fresh Thai mountain coffee, tea, and juices. Try local specialties or well-known Thai classics for lunch and dinner either homemade or in restaurants. Earth Yoga Korat is flexible with your culinary preferences, vegetarian, pescetarian, European oven dishes, fruit shake diet, etc.
In the free time, you might wish to have a relaxing herbal oil massage, visit one of Khonburi's cafe houses, go for a temple visit in walking distance or simply have a stroll through the little town's alleys.
There is massage, sauna, and pedicure possible in town (not at our place and not included in our package). We can give you a lift in the free time without program.

The train in Thailand is fun and cheap and usually, you get a better view of the landscape than from the bus. Go to Nakhon Ratchasima main station and then (by taxi or tuk-tuk) to the new bus terminal (terminal 2) please. Earth Yoga Korat can pick you up from there.
