Casa Kiliku is a green space created by artists. The Kiliku is a small hawk that lives on the Ilaló volcano. Is a local symbol of freedom, seeing reality from high above. It means that Casa Kiliku helps yogis to distance themselves from everyday life and fly into the experience of living in a yoga ashram, while enjoying the surrounding green garden with flowers and old trees.

You can stay on the terrace and chat with others, lay in a hammock to read, or meditate among the trees that sway in the wind. Accommodation will be in double and triple rooms. It is possible to book a single room for a supplement.

Yoga practice

Tantra yoga works with deep relaxation, so you will flow through the asanas without any difficulty. It will become a kind of deep meditation yoga. This technique will be complemented with the practice of bandhas, pranayama, mantra chanting, Samadhi, sitting meditation, and kriyas.

During the retreat, students will explore the Tantric yogic lifestyle, philosophy, and the arts. Through the teachings of Tantra, they will also learn about the energy exchange between Shiva and Shakti, the two polarities, and how to integrate sexual energy in their exploration of yoga.

Through Kundalini, based on the teachings of Yogi Bhajan, a different approach to energy work was integrated. Students will learn kriyas, pranayama, chakras theory, and will have the opportunity to practice teaching Tantra yoga classes. In addition, they will draft a written assignment.

Other included practices

With Ayurveda massage, you will learn more about your body, psychology, and physiology. To deepen into the creativity of the body, you’ll relax with Durga’s Tiger dance, a kind of movement that Iris Disse developed based on energy work with yoga, and implemented in different dance styles.

As you will be in Ecuador, in touch with a great indigenous people, you will also work with shamanistic energy concepts, linking it with the Tibetan Tantric tradition. There are several similarities with the shamanic visions in the Andes, for example, working with astral energy and subtle aspects of anatomy and psychology. This work will help Western yoga students to become more integrated with the Eastern view.

The shamanic clown is energy work that combines improvisation, clown, dance, music and rhythm, meditation, and practical shamanism, among other things. The result is a fusion of tools and experiences that you can use in art and life, to get more in touch with your inner child and intuition. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in temazcal purification, an ancient ceremony in which you will conceive the purpose of the course and reconnect with nature, spirit, and with yourself.

In the expressive arts of being workshops, students will explore themselves in a process of emotional cleansing, through dance, voice work, body language, clown, and theater techniques. In addition, each student will receive a “limpia”, which is a ritual to clean energy with local medicinal plants, carried out by Fanny, a native of the commune and the mountain Ilaló.

Partner yoga is a mild form of practicing Tantra yoga in a deeper way. Working in pairs means to connect with the other person through all the senses and feeling supported in your practice, opening your heart. Finally, Karma yoga is an important element of learning life in a community, so the group will contribute to keeping common spaces and materials clean, and take care of "Pachamama" (Earth) by clearing the garbage at the mountain.
