Each training course follows a very elaborate and proven energy choreography to guide and accompany you through a beautiful and challenging process of personal exploration. Living in a spiritual community enables students to focus on their training, away from everyday tasks and distractions, fully immersing themselves in a process of learning and self-discovery. Students experience the joy of deeply engaging in yogic and tantric practice and lifestyle without their usual responsibilities and the busyness of their life. A close and dynamic group environment is created to enable students to share their experience and learning process and thus collectively deepen their understanding of the practice. During this yoga teacher training, 65% of the course content will be focused on Tantra yoga, meditation, pranayama, and chakra work. Other practices include applied tantric wisdom, somatic arts, shamanism, intuitive anatomy.
During this training, you will be staying in a shared dorm. Rooms are big dormitory of four to five people.
Students who complete the training are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance and Yoga Alliance International and all their divisions, as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®).

Since everything in this world is in a constant state of flow, no two training are the same. Teachers and practices vary from training to training so as to make sure each program is truly unique.
The style of yoga Durga’s Tiger School ® for Tantra Yoga Shamanism teaches is Kaula Tantra yoga. With the rising popularity of yoga in the recent past, many different styles and teachings emerged. So, what does the Kaula Tantra stands out from other traditions? The sequence taught at the school comes straight from an ancient lineage and is based on the teachings of Bhagavan Shanmuka Anantha Natha. Durga's Tiger School for Tantra Yoga Shamanism’s work with asanas, bandhas, pranayama, mudras, and mantras.
Different from other practices, this series is practiced in a slow and flowing manner to build patience and awareness. Each asana is held gently for a period of time to allow students to relax into the posture. This way, each individual finds their own way of expressing the asanas without the pressure of competing or performing perfectly. Tantra yoga facilitators approach students as whole human beings and discourage isolating or forcing muscles.
Their priority is to hold a space of acceptance and love, with some little guidance where necessary. Each body is different. As such, each student is encouraged to find their own way of expressing asanas. There is no pressure to compete with others or to be in “perfect alignment”. This form of yoga specifically activates the diaphragm, balancing the body to balance every other aspect of life, including one’s sexuality.
Over time, students learn to meditate in the postures to connect with the divine. Through Tantra teachings, students learn about the energetic exchange and how to integrate sexual energy into their yoga exploration. There will be time to share after class, make questions, and delve into tantric and yogic teachings. Students are given time for self-study, reflection, and practice teaching Tantra yoga classes with each other.
Students also complete a written project throughout the training. You will work with asanas, pranayama, mudras, mantras, and different meditation techniques. In addition, the curriculum also incorporates a variety of unique experiences and teachings that invite students to grow in all aspects of their lives, not merely in yoga. In addition to embodying the yogic lifestyle in their daily life, students will explore Tantra and various other spiritual and artistic disciplines.
You shall discover the joy and the importance of giving support and being supported. The challenge is to take care of the sacred space between you and your partner. You shall experience the joy of giving and receiving. In the classes, you shall keep on working on the asanas of the Kaula Tantra yoga series, using the approach of tantric wisdom, in which you shall focus on presence, sensory connection, and non-verbal communication, thereby creating a dance of Shiva and Shakti.
Meditation is the foundation of Tantra yoga. You shall explore different still and active meditation techniques, including such practices as chanting, movement, and breathwork. Meditation brings a greater mindful presence to all aspects of life. In Kaula Tantra yoga, it is the art of “not doing” but simply “being” or create a space of emptiness in which creativity can flourish. It is an opportunity for students to tap into the sacred space within.
Durga's Tiger School for Tantra Yoga Shamanism’s approach to anatomy is unique in that they place special emphasis on intuitive learning over memorization. The anatomy and physiology classes are designed to connect students with their embodied intelligence. Students will learn to pay greater attention to their bodies and act from spontaneous impulse rather than because of a cerebral process. Looking at Ayurvedic teaching, students will familiarize themselves with the elements of their embodied selves.
This class is about intimacy as a holistic connection. Intimacy can be verbal, spiritual, or physical. It can be with oneself, with another human being, or with the more-than-human world. Durga's Tiger School for Tantra Yoga Shamanism’s approach to tantra is consent-based, empirical, non-binary, and non-dogmatic. It is grounded in gentleness, care, and lovingkindness. Students will be invited to consider the importance of ritual alongside the ways in which to create and hold sacred spaces.
In this class, Durga's Tiger School for Tantra Yoga Shamanism blurs the line between art and life. Through physical theatre and broader movement practices such as clown, bouffon, and Play-Fight, students will develop their somatic intuition. This will enable them to decondition social inhibitions as well as habitual patterns of behavior. It is an opportunity for students to look at the world in a new light. It is also a profoundly spiritual journey of playful and creative self-actualization.
Singing connects you with self, other, and that which transcends identity. Coming together to sing chants and mantras from all over the world, you will manifest various energy fields and celebrate the power of community.
As the school was born out of Ecuador, which boasts a thriving indigenous population, Durga's Tiger School for Tantra Yoga Shamanism feels that it is important to share about Andean culture and its cosmovision of the world. This cosmovision aligns with many philosophies and teachings of ancient Eastern cultures. Through energy work, astrology, and shamanic experiences, students will reconnect with both inner and outer nature.
Once a week, you shall observe what is alive for you in the present moment and share it with the group. These communication circles allow you to truly see, hear, and witness one another. They are simple yet powerful tools of self-knowledge and community building.
Karma yoga is an inherent part of collective living. Durga's Tiger School for Tantra Yoga Shamanism helps each other look after communal spaces. Through Karma yoga, Durga's Tiger School for Tantra Yoga Shamanism keeps in contact with the earth and its fruits as they contribute to the group’s wellbeing and learning process.
Daniela was born and raised in Italy. Between 2005 and 2010, she completed her studies as Ayurvedic massagist, Shiatsu operator and facilitator, Qigong master teacher. Between 2011 and 2012, Daniela traveled to India where she practiced Hatha yoga in Sivananda Ashram in Neyer Dam. She arrived in Ecuador in 2013 and started training in Tantra yoga with Iris Disse while assisting with the creation of Durga’s Tiger School. She is now a master yoga teacher in the school, giving classes in meditation and Tantra yoga. In 2016, she certified herself in Ovarious Breath and 100-hour pregnancy yoga.
Christian is a Swiss explorer of breath, sound, and movement-based in Ecuador and Switzerland. Christian has studied with various teachers and schools, such as Estera Saraswati and Zenon D. Dorje (House of Tantra), Lorenzo Stiernquist, Kristina Marlen, Elana Andermatt, the International School of Temple Arts (ISTA), and Pema Gitama (Wild Tantra) as well as completing 500hr with Iris Disse at Durga's Tiger School. Christian is also a bodyworker, offering relaxation and tantra massages, and he is currently in training to become a BioDynamic Breathwork and Trauma Release System practitioner.
As multidisciplinary artist, facilitator, and researcher, Swan organizes events on holistic intimacy and human rewilding. He's teacher of physical theatre working on corporal mime, clown, and bouffon, and practice various somatic disciplines such as contact improvisation, hand balancing, and Movement Culture. They studied tantra and conscious sexuality with the Institute for the Study of Somatic Sex Education; the Samma Karuna School; the School of Erotic Mysteries; and the Center for Positive Sexuality from which they obtained professional certifications.
Monterosi is an ecologically restored, stone, Tuscan country house. 15 minutes drive from Anghiari, a picturesque unspoiled medieval village in the Arezzo area of Tuscany. Set in fields full of wildflowers, olive, and oak trees, Monterosi is amidst some of the most beautiful scenery in Italy. This stone-built house has been renovated to the highest ecological standards whilst maintaining its ancient character and serenity.
The villa faces south across to Umbria, rolling hills and distant mountains. Sunlight floods into the rooms, all of which have gorgeous views. Anghiari, the local village is a 15-minute drive along the track. A beautiful unspoiled medieval Tuscan village, with lots of friendly local shops, cafes, and restaurants, and a weekly market for fruit and vegetable. Sansepolcro the birthplace of the famous artist Piero Della Francesca is another 10 minutes away from where you will find bigger supermarkets and shops.
Arezzo, 45 minutes by car is the nearest city where you will find the nearest train station where trains run regularly to Rome, Florence, Milan, and more. Villa Monterosi is very well situated in the center of Italy, making it a fantastic position for daily outings or simply relaxing at the villa or by the pool. There is a large garden and endless walks.
