In this level II training, Durga Excursions will be layering physical, emotional, and energetic engagement of immersive practice life: Physical: home of the Prana vessel; Emotional: home of the Dharma, inner methods, and mindfulness; Energetic: home of the Hara and chi body.
Willka T’ika’s sustainable guest rooms are made from natural earth materials and adorned with local artwork.
All rooms are named for the Andean medicinal plant that grows at each room’s doorstep. A variety of room configurations can accommodate up to sixty-five guests.
The spacious luxury rooms, designed using feng shui principles, include a seating area and offer mountain and garden views. The cozier garden rooms are tucked away in charming spots throughout the gardens.
Each room has its own private modern bathroom and entry to the gardens. Their welcoming Quechua staff places fresh flowers in each room and provides hot water bottles for your bed at night. To maintain a tranquil retreat atmosphere, their guest rooms have no television sets or telephones.
The course/hours count as Continuing Education hours for Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®) only.
Your focus will be on the contemplative side of yoga, the internal methods of cultivating the body-mind complex, harnessing the chi body, distributing its resources. The Buddha used one word in his sermons more than any other- Bhavana. Meaning, to cultivate. This training is a nod towards human agency to direct attention to areas in which you’d like to manifest. As neuroplastic beings, where to attend to, is where our force field grows and thickens.
Level II will focus on the cultivation of an enriched Pranic field and an in-depth investigation of Buddhist philosophical principles- which you will mingle with psychological self-inquiry and awareness practices in Yin Yang yoga asanas. This course offers advanced anatomy, Yin Yang posture clinics, neuro-physiology of the autonomic nervous system, the path of awakening to the Dharma, and meditation methodology. While Level I is not a required prerequisite, Durga Excursions do suggest you have trained previously in essential features of a Yin yoga and mindfulness-based practice.
Through consistent discipline practice mingled with the soft expanse of heart methods such as Tonglen, compassion practices, authentic relating in partner practices, and diads, you will encourage deep roots. These roots become the foundation of your daily practice so that you aren’t plucked from your fertile soil when the winds of turbulence meet your brief display of vital life in this body. This Yin training and retreat is a commitment to the inner dimensions of experience, a willingness to open up inside and wonder.
A specific focus on "The water element - kidney meridian" will be honed, as your channel of vitality. The kidneys are known as the root of life in which the optimal functioning of all the other organs relies on. In the deep folds of rest and rejuvenation, your kidney chi requires quietude and spaciousness to enrich the Pranic resources. As such, gentle meditation, restorative yoga, and an emphasis on rest response in the parasympathetic nervous system will be highlighted.
