A yoga retreat with some surfing thrown in. A totally awesome weekend! Duck soups retreats with such a cool bunch of people! At some point you may see me in a wet suit. So, what I learned in essentially 48 hours is I can learn from being in a different environment and town, I learned some new yoga moves and listened to some great unheard tunes that has inspired me to do the sun salutation every morning, made some new friends, for only having 7 swimming sessions and never been in the sea before, I loved the sea and braved surfing even in the rain. (I even loved the wet suit ). So I made it to my knee and one foot to almost standing, and cheered my comrades on without feeling competitive or frustrated. I just grabbed my board, went back in and loved every moment! That was 48 hours of fun!

Emily, I had the utmost pleasure of meeting (and being taught by) this beautiful woman during my stay at the April-June 2015 YTTC in Dharamsala with Chandra International Yoga. She brings so much to the table, it’s honestly quite hard to adequately describe her. I know this seems like an gross up-sell of someone, but I promise you that she is incredible! Emily, I wish you the absolute best in everything. Thank you for what you’ve given me and, for that matter, for everyone else as well! Safe and happy travels!

Emily is a great yoga teacher! She uses the experience from her previous sport training, teaching in the university and personal practice. Emily is a very enthusiastic in teaching yoga and has a sense of humor what is nice approach while doing hard yoga training:) I really enjoyed our classes with Emily during TTC in India. Thank you, Emily, for teaching and sharing the knowledge with us!

My stay was awesome with a welcome treat from travelling around Sri Lanka. Lush surroundings with the infinity pool surrounded by jungle with monkeys in the trees. A very friendly staff and excellent food. I really hope to get back some day.

Since leaving Ratnakara all I can think about is when I can next return. The villa is just the most stunning place I have ever been. The rooms are beautifully done, the staff are extremely friendly and always there to help. The food eaten out on the terrace overlooking the jungle was awesome along with the yoga shala with the most relaxing feel looking out over the same vibrant and chattering jungle. We were even watched by monkeys one day while practicing. The one thing I will never forget is the sound of the waves, which set the most amazing sense of calmness, which I struggle to find in my normal daily life back home. I truly found my happy place and I am so excited to start planning my next visit.

Our experience was a very relaxing weekend getaway. The place itself is lovely with a homely feel, great accommodation, food, and very helpful and flexible staff. The yoga instructors were great, accommodating and with fun activities. The yoga itself was suitable for all levels but challenging at the same time. I will definitely come back again.
