"A bit unorganized"

The setting is beautiful. The whole facility is very tranquil and relaxing. The studio has a great view of the lake and it's very pretty to look at while doing a class. I stayed in the dorm and it was fine - just one other person and the beds were comfy and had lots of blankets for the cold nights. The toilet and shower were outside. The girls working there were very nice and they kept the place very clean. The food was good and the 4 dogs and one cat were friendly and fun.

"200 hour YTT in Paradise"

I completed my 200 YTT at Doron Yoga in November of 2023. I couldn’t have asked for a more attentive teacher. Doron practiced Ashtanga yoga for decades, and studied in India under Pattabhi Jois. Drawing from the best parts of the Ashtanga tradition, he created the Doron Yoga sequence, which you will practice in class each morning and learn how to teach at our training. After three weeks, I’m stronger and more flexible then I have felt in years, and doing asanas that I never thought were possible. I also feel able to teach a class that is adaptable and challenging to anyone, regardless of their previous experience of Yoga. Doron leads by example with vulnerability, consideration, and passion. I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to learn from him. Yoga has played a huge role in my life, saving me through periods of stress, grief, and upheaval. I feel like I now have a foundation that will benefit me for the rest of my life. While I went into this training primarily for myself, I left feeling empowered, inspired, and capable to teach Yoga too and share this gift with others.

"Home away from home "

The staff, classes, and food were all incredible. It is the perfect place to go for some rest and relaxation by the lake. The view from the yoga shala is incredible. Doron is a great teacher, accounting for and providing different options for all experience levels in his class. It’s a perfect spot for exploring other towns around the lake whilst keeping much needed tranquility.

"Great yoga in a beautiful place"

I had an amazing experience at the new years retreat. The whole place is just beautiful and Doron, Kasia and their whole staff are really trying to make you feel at home and nourished. The yoga, meditation and other activities were amazing and they made sure to offer different options for different levels of experience. After this week, both my body and soul feel a lot better, more open and strong. I especially enjoyed connecting with all the other people and also with myself. Last but not least they offer an excellent deep tissue massage!

"More than I could have imagined "

Booking my 200hr yoga teacher training at Doron yoga was the best decision I could’ve made. Doron and Kasia pour their hearts and souls into every training. I didn’t think I would learn as much as I did and am so grateful for their teachings that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. I initially went to Doron Yoga center with the intention to deepen my practice and to get into a good routine. Not only did I accomplish those two goals but the amount of knowledge I’ve gained has helped me feel confident to teach others and share this wealth of knowledge. They truly want the best for their students and for their student’s students. Those drawn to Doron yoga were some of the coolest people I’ve meant. I’m so grateful for the bonds I have made with like minded people. They truly created a safe space for sharing and learning. The food was incredible. I bought Doron’s cookbook as soon as I left as I could not imagine life with out some of those meals! All so fresh and healthy. I’ve never felt so balanced. Accommodations were comfortable, gardens were beautifully cared for and knowing some of the ingredients came straight from the garden made meals so much more special. Thank you, thank you, thank you <3

This was a spectacular experience. The location is in a beautiful and magical part of the country on Lake Atitlan, nestled in the mountains, surrounded by the garden full of herbs for the tea and plenty of vegetables for the fresh and delicious meals, topped off with a flowing river you walk along on your daily route from the dorms to the Yoga Shala.

The amount of knowledge transferred during this training is exceptional. Doron maintains a well-balanced schedule every day and pours his heart and wisdom into it. He is genuinely passionate about sharing the tool of Yoga with the World, and it shows in all his teachings; whether it be the asanas, philosophy, or methodology. If your Mind and Heart are open to it, you will learn much more than just “yoga.” Thank you for tending to the garden of my own mind - cleaning the weeds, planting new seeds, and watering them. Namaste 🙏🏻

"Wonderful location, more input/support expected at retreat"

Yummy and fresh food (really enjoyed the family dinner style), lovely participants, great place to rest and immerse yourself with yoga and meditation. I especially enjoyed the Yin Yoga (by Kasia) and Yoga Nidra (by Julia). I received more insights and information about mediation and I will integrate it into my daily life.

"Sthira Sukham Asana"

Gorgeous setting, delicious, healthy food and sweet staff.

Learned so much about Yoga.

It's exponentially more fascinating and rich with history than you'd have known from your average yoga studio or gym yoga class.

"Beautiful experience "

Lake Atitlan and the quiet town of Tzununa are a wonderful backdrop to Doron Yoga. The yoga shala sits with beautiful views of the lake and Volcanoes in the background. Sunrise mediation is other worldly, the sun peaking out from behind erupting Volcan Fuego, wow, just wow. The facilities are comfortable and I loved my week stay. The food is so good and those that aren't into the vegetarian diet, well trust me you will forget that there is no meat. What made it a truly beautiful experience are the people. I was welcomed with a big smile and a warm hug from Doron. Everyone that works there felt like friends with your best interest at heart. The yoga and meditation was great, it might be a little difficult for beginners but the instructors gave modifications and it's up to you not to get discouraged and try the modifications. The group work with Tina touched my heart she is such a genuine person. I honestly know I will go back and take my sister.

"Doron Yoga"

Teacher: Egotistical and easily angered; lashes out. Comes from a good lineage of teachers. Knowledgeable but often unable to transmit knowledge in class. Favored particular students and ignored others (e.g. Asian students).

Education: Strong in yoga asanas, alignment, and teaching assists. Weak in philosophy and history. Inflexible teaching style (Doron’s 19 building blocks based on Ashtanga must be adhered to) that will wear heavily on the wrists.

Facilities: Generally poorly maintained and managed. The yoga shala is beautiful. In both private rooms and shared rooms, most students dealt with some combination of mice, scorpions, being locked out of rooms, spiders, and issues that arose were sometimes not addressed for several days. Showers are usually cold and occasionally there is no water at all.

Amenities: There is no food available between meals and add-ons are a bit pricey (dessert is for a fee, taels are for a fee, muffins are $2.15USD). Laundry does not come back fully clean. In general, bookings via Doron Yoga have been unreliable.

Food: Vegetarian, menu repeats each week (no selection). ~90% of the student group suffered from diarrhea for 1-2 weeks of their 3 week stay; a few contracted parasites.

"Gorgeous Guatemalan Getaway!"

Of the handful of yoga retreats I have done around the world, this was by far the most educational and inspirational. Doron is a true teacher, and is also understanding of the realities of day-to-day existence in the 21st century. I loved the classes, the food, and the wonderful people I was able to meet. Top notch experience!

"Life Changing "

I loved everything about this retreat. Doron yoga and Zen center truly attracts incredible people. I just did the New Years Rejuvenation Retreat and it was more empowering, enlightening, and FUN than I could have ever imagined. In a week my yoga practice has drastically improved. The food is incredible. The meditation and breathing exercises are everything. Doron is so warm yet he challenges you and spends time paying attention to detail in your poses during practice. I’m not a yogi or a vegan, I do practice twice a week, and this was incredible and definitely inspired me to deepen my practice. The food is exquisite, super fresh and healthy. The zen center is beautiful and peaceful and clean. It’s in a great location on lake Attilan and the view is spectacular. Lake Atitlan might be the most beautiful place in the world. Also I met some of the most amazing people. Oh, and it’s so easy to do really fun activities like paddle boarding, hiking, etc. the center takes care of everything.

"Best yoga teacher training out there "

Doron is the most inspirational teacher I’ve ever had! He is the most passionate man I’ve ever met who dearly loves Yoga and the lifestyle that comes along with it. Not only did I get an amazing instructor, but it is the best shala I’ve ever seen, the food was so healthy, the workers who help run the place are the most wonderful people and the location is so zen and beautiful. You will not regret coming here. You will gain all the tools necessary to being the best yoga teacher you can possibly be.

"DYZC 200hr YTT Review "

Food was better than expected and very filling. Accommodations were comfortable and clean. The location was spectacular and practicing with the view of Lake Atitlan in front of you is incomparable. Learned so much from Doron and my practice changed dramatically for the better under his instruction. Wonderful experience and amazed at how quickly it flew by.

"So much mire than just a yoga teacher training!"

First of all the location is amazing and easy to reach from Guatemala Airport. Doron is a caring person and an outstanding teacher, not only thanks to his great practice but also because of his openness to discussion. The schedule of the course seemed very light even thought we practiced a lot and learned so much in such a short time (3 weeks) The food was amazing and everything was well organised and clean at the hospitality!

"Just Wonderful!"

I had an amazing experience. The quality of the program is superb; Doron is an amazing teacher, very knowledgeable and attentive.

The place itself is great as well— who wouldn’t love to practice yoga with the view of Lago de Atitlán and volcanes?!

"Right balance "

He has a big knowledge, which he loves to share! In all parts he has a good fundament and for me the right balance between spirituality and being "humen".
