Experience a relaxing country break of yoga, meditation, walking, delicious fresh food, and great company or time out of your busy life at Tilton House, East Sussex. This Georgian country house sits in the impressively natural landscape, nestled underneath the picturesque South Downsand, surrounded by woodlands with far reading views across the Sussex Weald providing a place for peaceful contemplation. Nearby, are footpaths known as the sour Downs Way where you can walk up the downs to find expansive views of the English Channel and the White Cliffs, which will take you breathe away.
Tilton House provides stylish, yet cozy accommodation. All rooms are sharing with friends or fellow retreat guests, either on a double or twin, or triple basis. The house was completely redecorated in May 2007, and all seven bedrooms were decorated using natural materials. Every room has plenty of character and all have views over either the Sussex Weald or Downs.
The garden has many mature trees, you could sling one of the many hammocks and relax to the sound of birdsong. For the more energetic, there is a tennis court hidden behind a row of ash trees. The fire pit in a woodland clearing provides the perfect setting for spinning yarns and stargazing as night closes in. It's known that Lydia Lopokova, the Russian ballerina, was inspired to dance on the lawns under the moonlight.
Your stay and home will be from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon. This retreat includes daily yoga classes of Hatha and Restorative yoga including mindfulness, meditation, deep relaxation in the natural space of a 30-feet yurt, nestled among the trees, together with time out breaks for you to relax in nature, to reconnect, let go, and just be.

The Georgian country house was once home to economist John Maynard Keynes and ballerina Lydia Lopokova, as their retreat for contemplation and calm. Charleston Farmhouse, home to the Bloomsbury set, shares the same private road, which winds into a network of footpaths that is The South Downs Way. Walk up onto the downs and find expansive views over the English Channel, stirring to the soul on any day.

Healthy and delicious vegetarian meals using as much home grown, fresh seasonally produced from the kitchen garden are prepared daily by the on-site chef. In addition, all day tea, coffee, fruit, and snacks are available.
Holistic treatments are available on request at an additional cost.
The country-liner service 125 runs from Lewes on Wednesdays to Friday. The Cuckmere Community Bus runs on Sundays and bank holiday.
There is a regular service from London Victoria to Lewes, running every 30 minutes. The nearest station is Berwick, approximately two miles from Tilton.
