  • Do you want to share concepts and ideas of gratitude, self-worth, awareness, respect, empathy, connection, and peace?
  • Are you ready to spend 10 light-hearted, nourishing and playful days learning everything you need to know to confidently share all aspects of yoga and mindfulness to support children's emotional and mental health?

Who is this training for?

Divine Light Yoga welcomes individuals from all corners of the world, with a whole range of backgrounds, experiences, cultures, languages, and professions.

Divine Light Yoga has trained community workers from Guatemala, play therapists from Hong Kong, social workers from Singapore, yoga trainers from South Africa, parents from Oman, grandparents from India, business professionals from London, speech therapists from Austria, elementary school teachers from Canada, sports coaches from New York, yoga teachers from Australia.

Divine Light Yoga truly believes that everyone has valuable experience to share with children, teens, and families, through yoga and mindfulness. Divine Light Yoga respects, honors, and celebrates our differences (just as we do with children) and we find unity through our shared intentions of making great changes in the world through the power of therapeutic, playful, creative children's yoga and mindfulness.

Teaching Practice

One of the absolute highlights of this programme is the opportunity to teach with the children of the local outreach programme. This is a wonderful chance to share your love, light, and joy with disadvantaged children, that may not ordinarily have the opportunity to experience yoga play and creativity. This is guaranteed to be one of the most valuable aspects of the training and something that makes us a little unique.

The program

Through interactive assignments, experiential learning, teaching practices, and group discussions, you'll explore:

  • Creative and age-appropriate yoga poses and sequences
  • Making yoga fun and engaging for little ones all the way to teens
  • The developing mind and body of children, including the different learning styles and how to tailor your classes to different ages and abilities
  • Making yoga philosophy and Hindu mythology relevant and interesting for all ages
  • Incorporating story-telling, play, music, movement, dance, writing and group discussion into yoga
  • Breathing and meditation techniques to support and enhance children's emotional and mental health
  • Fundamentals of educational philosophy and it's essential role in children's yoga
  • Creative yoga, meditation and mindfulness techniques for children aged 3-16 years
  • Incorporating nature, music, dance, art, nature and storytelling into yoga classes
  • Essentials of teaching yoga to children with special needs
  • Therapeutic Yoga techniques for children
  • Positive and playful classroom management for children and teen classes
  • Safely and creatively teaching advanced poses for pre-teens and teens
  • Supporting children and teens through anxiety, stress and trauma through yoga and relaxation techniques
  • The business of kids yoga - so that you can get practical strategies and create an action plan to start your kids yoga classes and career as soon as you leave the training

Laura adjusts the workshops on each training depending on the interests and experiences of the group, making this a completely unique teacher training in which you will leave feeling confident, motivated and inspired to create a positive impact in your family and community, through sharing yoga and mindfulness.
