Enjoy the full week of wonderful yoga practices and surfing in Punta del Hidalgo, Spain. Your days will be relaxing, but also rejuvenating in a fun and entertaining way. There will be plenty of down time that you can use to explore the area. The private nature of this retreat means that you will only have yourself and/or your partner throughout alongside your instructor.

There are 2 accommodation types:

Option 1: Studio with sharing garden

The detached house is fully equipped with a shared garden. You have wifi and parking.

It is located 10 minutes from San Juanito beach and 15 minutes walk from the natural swimming pool (free) Arenisco.

Option 2: Apartment with sea view

The apartment is fully equipped with wifi. It has a bedroom and a balcony with a sea view and outdoor green spaces.

It is located 2 minutes from Roquette (surf spot) and 10 minutes from the black sand beach on foot.

Program

The retreat is designed to accommodate one or two people who come together. There is no level required for both disciplines. DHARMANAS set up this retreat in order to personalize the lessons by adapting to the person in private lessons.

Surf and yoga

Yoga helps the body to regenerate after the effort of surfing and to release muscle tension thanks to these relaxing effects. Through each posture, you seek the balance you need on your surfboard. Meditation helps you stay focused in the present moment to optimize your performance in the water. As for pranayama, it helps to keep calm and one's breath when the sets are numerous.

Itinerary

The morning

You go to the beach every morning to reconnect with yourselves for an individual yoga session. You practice for 1 hour depending on your needs in the present moment.

1. Asanas

  • The practice of yoga postures

You create stability and strength. Through your physical body, you will awaken the subtle energies.

2. Pranayama

  • The practice of breathing

You learn to control the vital energy, the breath.

3. Meditation

  • The practice of mindfulness

You practice introspection and self-reflection.

At the end of the afternoon

You are going to meet the waves. During 5 days, you will push your limits during 1 hour and 30 minutes of surf coaching. When you get out of the water, you do a 30-minute photo and video debriefing to improve your technique. During the stay, you have at your disposal softboards and neoprene. Photos will be taken as memories of the week.

The apartment is located 2 minutes from Roquete (surf spot) and 10 minutes from the black sand beach on foot. In the small town of Punta del Hidalgo you have restaurants, grocery stores, and a pharmacy.

Take advantage of the surroundings to explore UNESCO heritage Anaga or relax by the sea. Strong feeling lover? Discover the Teide from the air in a paraglider. The north of the island is preserved from mass tourism. DHARMANAS only works locally to preserve their place of life.

Food

Intermittent fasting is practiced, if it is possible for you. DHARMANAS suggests that you let your body rest during the stay by taking one meal a day in order to purify the body. The rest of the time, good hydration is necessary. You have teas and filtered water on hand. DHARMANAS delivers a homemade organic brunch every day. If needed, you can eat fruit.
