Overview

In this 28 days of deep jungle immersion with an exceptional team of teachers and peers, you will explore yoga techniques, discuss and learn yoga philosophy, and practice teaching. The Nature Yoga Teacher Training will also teach you the fundamentals of yoga asana, philosophy, anatomy, physiology, and psychology. You will also learn the benefits and function of asana, meditation, mantra, and pranayama in order to teach others effectively.

    Heidi Michelle first stepped onto a yoga mat in 1998 and has been teaching yoga since 2008. As a personal development and awareness facilitator from 1995 to 2002, Heidi’s passion for empowering people emerged. She has been guiding, teaching, and leading, in one form or another, ever since. Offering retreats, workshops, and trainings in the USA, India, Mexico, and Costa Rica, her yogic teachings feature a dharma-rich, gently demanding Vinyasa-flow practice with an emphasis on yoga as a practice ground for life.

    Heidi Grace inspires us to explore yoga as an applied lifestyle. Her gentle and restorative approach to the yoga practice incorporates Ayurveda, energy work, flower essences, mantra, meditation, yantra painting, gemology, astrology, and yoga Nidra. Heidi Grace received her 200-hour yoga teacher training certification in 2009. She also has 108 hours of training in the heart oriented method of Anusara. Heidi became a SUP certified Instructor in 2012 and in 2013, she completed her 500-hour yoga teacher training in San Francisco.

This yoga teacher training will take place in Uvita, Costa Rica.

During this teacher training, you will be served 3 daily gourmet vegan meals.

Driving directions from Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO)

  • Take the Coastanera / Highway 34 South from San Jose to Uvita (approximately 3.5 to 4-hour drive).
  • As you arrive into Uvita, there will be two BM supermarkets / BM Supermercado both located on the left / east side of Highway 34.
  • Drive past the first BM (also next to BCR Bank) and take note of the second (the Southern most) BM Market. You'll see the BM Supermercado and Marina Ballena Restaurant on your left.
  • Continue driving south past those landmarks about 400 meters, then take the first left onto a dirt road. You'll see the "Selva Armonia" sign and several others such as “The Dome,” La Escuela Lider”, and “La Cacatua Lodge.”
  • From here, it is a 5-kilometer (3.5 miles) drive to the gates of Selva Armonia. Stay right at all forks in the road.
  • At the final fork, you'll see a sign on the right for Selva Armonia. Drive downhill approximately 500 meters to the large gates of Selva Armonia. The entrance will be on the right.
  • Drive down towards the property. Once you arrive at the dead end of the road, make a right towards the parking lot.

Arrival by airplane

Please arrive at Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) in San Jose. Airport transfers can be arranged through Selva Armonia Retreat Center at an additional cost. The total roundtrip cost is 113 USD. There are also taxis outside of the airport that will safely take you to Uvita for 150 - 200 USD.

Arrival by bus

The bus ride takes 4.5 hours and will deliver you to the center of Uvita. To get to Tracopa, you'll take a 25 - 30 USD taxi to Delio Morales bus station, also known as the Tracopa bus station, and purchase a bus ticket (un billete) to the town of Uvita. The ticket cost is around 10 USD.

Arrival by shuttle

Please contact Selva Armonia Retreat Center at least 72 hours prior to your trip if you’d like us to arrange a shuttle for you. Prices range from 50 - 75 USD for a group shuttle depending upon the season and 200 USD for private shuttle up to 5 people.

Arrival by taxi

Across the street from the Uvita bus station is the BM Supermarket. During the day, it should be fairly easy to find a 4 x 4 taxi. Taxis to Selva Armonia cost around 15 - 20 USD. Please let Selva Armonia Retreat Center know in advance if you need a taxi arranged for you.
