This training takes place in Varkala, Kerala, India. It’s a beautiful destination for yoga practitioners for a few reasons: its natural beauty, its spiritual significance, and its quietness but also attractiveness for surfers and paragliders.
Varkala is a lovely coastal town in Kerala in South India. It is located 40 kilometers northwest of the capital city of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram. Varkala is the only place in Kerala where you can find cliffs overlooking the Arabian Sea. Just seven kilometers away, you can enjoy the tranquillity of the backwaters where you can simply relax.
It is also considered to be the Varanasi of the South since it is a sacred pilgrim center with its more than 2,000-year-old Janardana Swami Temple, an important Vishnu shrine. It is an important Ayurveda treatment center too.
Another important landmark is the Sivagiri Mutt Ashram which was founded by Sree Narayana Guru, a philosopher, and a social reformer. Since it is the resting place of the Guru, it attracts thousands of pilgrims, particularly from 30th December to 1st January.

All 3 meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) served at the Yoga Sangha follow the principles of the Ayurvedic way of cooking. The traditional South Indian dishes they make are composed of sattvic foods which are those that promote the maintenance of mind-body balance and help to experience lightness, clarity, and peace.
For this reason, sattvic food excludes meat, fish, and eggs, and includes fresh fruit, vegetables, cooked whole grains, milk, legumes, nuts, and seeds. Vegetation and vegan meals are provided. It is possible to opt for a fully vegan diet.
They have the opinion that you are what you eat. They understand the importance of healthy, hearty, and nutritious meals even more so when practicing asanas four hours a day and studying at the same time, that’s why they provide three wholesome freshly cooked meals with a lot of love.
The meals are vegetarian (with a vegan option) and predominantly Sattvic (foods that promote purity of both mind and body.)
