Kerala Yoga Teacher Training

This yoga teacher training is a comprehensive certified program, it covers 200 hours of curriculum. Devvrat Yoga Sangha teach the art of teaching yoga (how to instruct, demonstrate, observe, and give hands-on assists in a yoga asana class), anatomy (how yoga sees the human body and how the human body functions with regard to yoga asana), philosophy (the roots of yoga as a philosophical and spiritual discipline, particularly in relation to contemporary life), asana, pranayama, and meditation practice (focus on alignment and making every asana available to everyone by the use of props and modifications).

Students who complete their subsequent trainings are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®).

Bearing the ultimate goal of yoga in mind, journeying on the yogic path is in itself incredibly transformative. However, becoming a yoga teacher dedicated to assisting others in walking that path can be even more powerful and rewarding. At Yoga Sangha, they intend to create an opportunity for serious practitioners who wish to explore the journey of spreading yoga as a way of life and helping people transform their lives through the profound experience of yoga practice.

They decided to combine the wisdom of two ancient traditional styles of yoga by creating a unique course in Ashtanga and Hatha, drawing from the strengths and beauty of both, the dynamic yet meditative quality of Ashtanga and the focus on proper alignment of Hatha. The curriculum offers not only the strengthening of your own asana practice, but also an immersion into yoga philosophy, meditation, and pranayama, as well as the tools you need to develop as a teacher in anatomy and art of teaching.

It is their belief that the quality of the course comes from giving each and every student their maximum attention. Therefore, each teacher training course group count a maximum of 12 students which gives them a chance to look after everyone well and make their learning experience as effective as possible. This course encourages self-study and self-awareness which they believe to be crucial features of a yoga teacher.

All the three meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) served at the Yoga Sangha follow the principles of Ayurvedic way of cooking. The traditional South Indian dishes Devvrat Yoga Sangha makes are composed of sattvic foods which are those that promote the maintenance of mind-body balance and help to experience lightness, clarity, and peace. For this reason, sattvic food excludes meat, fish, and eggs and includes fresh fruit, vegetables, cooked whole grains, milk, legumes, nuts, and seeds. It is possible to opt for a fully vegan diet too.
