Women's Yoga Retreat

Spend seven-days dancing within ancient temples, embodying Odissi and communing with Devi during the month of Katyayani. You will be, in-person - in temples, doing Seva for hundreds of widows, journaling, dancing, crafting, offering prayer, connecting, sharing, shopping, and more! Having designed clothes in India, Devi has learned the ropes of shopping. You will spend a fun day exploring colorful markets together.

Sample itinerary

Day 1: Arrival day - opening circle

  • 18:00 - 19:30 Meet and greet
  • 19:30 Dinner included

Please arrange your flight to be on time for dinner at the MVT restaurant and the first gathering; meet and greet. More information will be given at the time of your registration. If you arrive early, you will have time to walk around Vrindavan get acquainted with the area, buy a SIM card and do some shopping in the local area. Lunch would be on your own and available at the MVT restaurant.

Day 2: Widow seva and Katyayani

  • Morning meditation, yoga asana, or sacred activity followed by breakfast at the hotel.
  • You will spend your afternoon feeding and serving hundreds of widows. Widows are considered the outcasts of society in India, oftentimes being abandoned and left to beg on the streets.
  • Lunch at the hotel followed by a short break.
  • Sacred dancing, Odissi dance in the yoga hall at the hotel.
  • Visit Katyayani temple and unveil her secrets through sacred offerings.

Day 3: Shiva

  • Early morning meditation within a sacred temple, listening to the beautiful singing and prayers of women.
  • Visit a Shiva temple to participate in the morning ritual offerings.
  • Return to the hotel for a late breakfast followed by free time.
  • Lunch at the hotel.
  • Crafting and journaling: flower mandala making.
  • Evening boat ride with singing on the Jamuna river, Jamuna is considered the river goddess of Vrindavan.
  • Yoga asana class.
  • Dinner on your own.

Day 4: Tulsi - Holy Basil

  • Morning meditation, yoga asana, or sacred activity followed by breakfast at the hotel.
  • Visit the peaceful village of goddess Tulsi Devi in Vrinda Kunda which is located on the outskirts of Vrindavan. You will sing, make your own malas, dance, journal, offering sacred ritual practices to the Holy Basil plant of goddess Tulasi.
  • Lunch at Vrinda Kunda.
  • Return to Vrindavan for free time.
  • Dinner on your own.

Day 5: Katyayani and Kali

  • Morning meditation, yoga asana, or sacred activity followed by breakfast at the hotel.
  • Visit Katyayani temple for journaling, dancing, and meditation practices.
  • Lunch at Hotel
  • Visit a Kali temple.
  • Shopping in Loi Bazaar.
  • Dinner on your own.

Day 6: Meerabhai and Cow Seva

  • Morning meditation, yoga asana, or sacred activity followed by breakfast at the hotel.
  • Visit the peaceful goddess Meerabhai temple for journaling, dancing, and meditation practices.
  • Hotel for lunch, followed by free time.
  • Cows are considered sacred in India, you will visit a peaceful and quaint village where cows live and do Seva (service) for them, feeding and grooming them.
  • Dinner on your own.

Day 7: Radha

  • Morning meditation, yoga asana, or sacred activity followed by breakfast at the hotel.
  • Drive to visit Varshana the home of goddess Radha, queen of Vrindavan, where you will do practices of journaling, dancing, and singing.
  • Hotel for lunch
  • Crafting: flower garland making.
  • Visit Radhe Shyam temple for the evening kirtan ceremony.

Day 8: Departure day - closing circle

  • Morning meditation, yoga asana, or sacred activity followed by breakfast at the hotel.
  • Closing circle and departure.
  • Lunch on your own.

Included excursions

Katyayani Temple

Because the retreat will be during the month of Katyayani goddess, you will spend time in her temple in a sacred circle, doing offerings and dancing. Katyayani is another form of goddess Durga.

Shiva (Gopeshwar) Temple

This Shiva temple has a special morning ritual that it offers. It is said that if you participate in these morning rituals then all your dreams in relation to love, will manifest.

Jamuna Boat Ride: This is a peaceful experience where you can sing, do kirtan, and share in sacred circle together. You will take a boat from Keshi Ghat a beautiful location for photos and remembering what ancient India was like.

Vrinda Kunda

Kunda is a small pond and goddess Vrinda is the same as Tulasi, the Holy Basil Plant. Vrinda Kund is located in the peaceful countryside of Vrindavan. There you will be in nature in the real forests and green fields of Vrindavan.

Meerabhai Temple

This temple is the hidden gem of Vrindavan. Its bright blue color and peaceful atmosphere create an exquisite and memorable experience.

Cow Seva

This cow village is located just outside the bustling streets of Vrindavan. Often times there are many baby cows that you can feed and groom. It's a beautiful village with a peaceful green garden for dancing in.

Varshana, Queen Radha: Varshana is the core of Vrindavan. It's the home of the divine feminine. This temple is located at the top of a hill. It overlooks the colorful rooftops of many villages. This temple is booming with colors, songs, and dances for queen Radha.

Transportation for shopping at Loi Bazaar

Loi bazaar is the local market of Vrindavan, where you can get all your beautiful Indian treasures. We will go together so that I can show you the ropes of shopping there and then you will have time to explore on your own.

Experience the beautiful atmosphere of Vrindavan in the comfort and security of the MVT Guesthouse & Restaurant.

Temples and vibrant markets are located just outside the MVT grounds. Money changing services and SIM cards are easily available in the shops just feet away from the MVT.

Shops to buy food, clothes, medicines, or any basic necessities are also located just feet away from where you will be staying. Rikshaw transportation is just outside the MVT where you can explore anywhere in the town. Brij Health Care Hospital is approximately 2 km from the MVT which is well staffed and clean.


Breakfast and lunch at the MVT Restaurant are included.

MVT Restaurant

The satisfaction from having a delicious meal can never be overrated. The menu consists of fresh and flavorful choices for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. While the kitchen focuses on each meal being prepared in a clean and calm environment, they also appreciate the diverse dietary requirements of guests and offer the choice of having 90% of the menu prepared vegan and, when possible, gluten-free without compromising on taste.

All meals are prepared to a high standard, with quality ingredients, in a clean space, and are all vegetarian.

How to get there

Recommended Airports

Arrival by airplane

The closest airport is New Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL). From there, it is a 3.5-hour taxi ride to Vrindavan. Taxi pick-ups can be arranged for you if needed.

Arrival by taxi

Taking a taxi is the recommended way to reach Vrindavana from Delhi if you have a few people in your group or if you just want to be comfortable. This is the fastest way (about 3.5 hours). At the airport you can go to the “Paid Taxi Stands” or can help you reserve your taxi in advance.

Arrival by train

There is no long-distance train station in Vrindavana. The closest major station is in Mathura, about 14 km away or a half-hour taxi ride. There is also a passenger train between Mathura and Vrindavana, however this is not recommended unless you are familiar with the area.

Arrival by bus

Buses to Vrindavana or Mathura from Delhi depart from either the Interstate Bus Terminal near Kashmiri Gate in Old Delhi, or from the Ashram bus stop in the southeast part of Delhi. There are few direct buses from Delhi to Vrindavana. Most go to Mathura. If you take the Mathura bus, you get off at Chatikara Road and get a motor rickshaw to Vrindavana.
