The curriculum:

Devarya Wellness' entire curriculum is an amalgamation of the knowledge in dancing, Aerial, and yoga. All of the asanas that are present and passed down from time immemorial have their own version in aerial flow. Some of the asanas that remain constant through the class are:

  • Sirshasana (Hanging headstand)
  • Sarvangasana (Shoulder stand)
  • Dhanurasana (Bow Pose)
  • Upavishthakonasana (Extended leg stretch)
  • Ardha Kapotasana (Half Pigeon Pose)
  • Virabhadrasana (Warrior Pose)

The rest of the class flows using the help of soothing music to aid people in finding the connections from one asana to the next. It isn't the asana in itself that is of utmost importance but the way it is executed and the state of the mind while executing it. Each body is different and must be given the space and time to express itself in its best possible way.

  • 1) Aerial Flow is great for spinal decompression and hence great for anyone who is seeking relief from lower back pain, neck pain, and shoulder stiffness
  • 2) It also challenges your central nervous system and enhances your mental capacity
  • 3) Works on core strengthening and upper body toning and mobility
  • 4) Another key benefit is that it gets your adrenaline going while going against gravity. It also releases “happy” hormones like serotonin, endorphins, oxytocin, dopamine, which boost your mood and help you feel more energetic
  • 5) It also improves the circulation of blood, thus combating aging and its symptoms. Aerial yoga also helps detoxify the circulatory and lymphatic systems, which lowers the onset of various cardiovascular issues

Daily program would include:

  • Group chanting
  • 2 Aerial yoga classes per day
  • Pranayama practice
  • Enjoying the pool or the sea
  • Breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the resort
  • Hot teas throughout the day
