Relaxing yoga retreat in the heart of the green rolling hills of Tuscany. There will be twice daily yoga classes, led by our wonderful teacher with one afternoon off per week. The classes will take place in the quiet air-conditioned yoga room, which is bathed in natural light from the large skylights. Destination Yoga will provide all the yoga equipment so all you need to do is arrive ready for the sessions.
Hidden in the heart of the green rolling hills of Tuscany, lies Cugnanello. An elegant family-run estate with amazing views across its own vineyards, bountiful olive groves, and lavender field. The 800-year-old farmhouse has a rich history and has most recently been restored to its Tuscan charm blended with modern comforts.
Outdoors, the Locanda guests can explore the beautiful estate to find shady spots for reading, dive into the fresh saltwater swimming pool or simply relax on loungers and enjoy the Italian sunshine! However you spend your time, it’s easy to relax into the slower paced and easygoing way of life on retreat!
If you’re looking for a bit more activity, there is a small gym with cardio machines and free weights plus a petanque and beach volleyball court to play with your fellow yogis! There are also many stunning walking routes to discover the area.
Zoe is a Diploma Course Tutor (DCT) for the British Wheel of Yoga and is also their DCT training officer. She has over 30 years of yoga practice with many different teachers from a variety of traditions, which has resulted in having an eclectic style of teaching. Her fundamental approach is to build strength as the cornerstone of practice and from there, all poses become possible. Zoe has taken the additional British Wheel of Yoga modules in pranayama and pregnancy. She also runs regular yoga classes, courses, teacher training, and workshops.
Joanna's love of dynamic, flowing sequences led her to pursue the Ashtanga yoga teacher training, which she completed in 2004 with Brian Cooper and Nawajyoti at Union Yoga in Edinburgh and Shanti Griha in Scoraig, Scotland. She continues to deepen her yoga practice and draws inspiration from workshops and intensives with a wide range of well-known yogis. She holds a 300-hour certification in Prana Flow Energetic Vinyasa yoga with Shiva Rea and has also completed the intensive Yogabeats teacher training with David Sye.
Fresh Tuscan inspired cuisine will be enjoyed on the outdoor dining terrace. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all included, along with unlimited coffee and delicious local wine with dinner.
