Roushanna is the founder of Veld and Sea, she is a wild food innovator and avid forager. She teaches adults and children about wild edible foods through immersive experiences, connection, and creativity. Inspired by the local edible indigenous plant availability, she has been experimenting with the exciting flavors and diversity of wild plants for over ten years. The wide range of delicious and nutritious culinary offerings from the beautiful inter-tidal rock pools along the coastline also play a major role in her cooking classes and workshops.
Julie is our soft out house yoga teacher for this retreat, she will be dropping to teach her trademark Yin-Yang yoga. This is a combination of a deep and meditative practice (Yin) and fluid and dynamic sequences (Yang). Her classes focus both on working with deep tissues to promote flexibility and the free flow of energy in the body, as well as synchronizing breathing and movement to strengthen muscles, develop concentration, and to move the body with control. Yin Yang yoga is the perfect balance between Yin yoga and Vinyasa yoga that brings you softness, serenity, and vitality.
Paola Beck is a Mexican-German nomad artist who currently lives and works in Rome, Italy. She studied Illustration but then started painting more and more, and for the last 6 years she has focused mainly on murals, always looking or a positive and constructive message. Respecting and honoring nature and your roots have become her main goal. She found a beautiful way of connecting minds and unblocking many of her students that have had the interest in starting to draw or paint through teaching people that never thought it could be possible.
Originally from Cape Town and now based in Copenhagen. Over the past 18 years, Samantha journey has led her to study and practice Kundalini yoga, dance, psychology, and shamanism, as well as various spiritual and ancient esoteric teachings. As the creator of Body Choir; an ecstatic meditation movement practice. Her work is centerd around recovering balance and trust within your bodies, reconnecting to your heart center as a source of inner power and wisdom to awaken freedom within.
Eternal student and teacher Charisse has studied medicine, theatre, languages and just about every healing modality out there. A yoga teacher for 20 years she spent time in ashrams in India, Buddhist temples in Japan and has worked for NGOs in Afghanistan and her native South Africa. She has taught at universities and schools across the world in theatre, film, art, philosophy, creative writing and critical studies. Her first and greatest love is the written word and she particularly cherishes the power of narrative to heal.
Grit Hennig is an engineer, working in a challenging, international business environment in Germany. To gain more balance between her work and private life she started practicing yoga while working and living in Thailand in 1997 and this radically changed her life. With a very strong personal yoga practice of over 20 years she wanted to continue her journey and love for Yoga by doing her teacher’s training. She completed her 250 hours’ Registered Yoga Alliance Teacher training in 2017 and went back to complete her 300 hours’ in Mysore, India, both courses, under the guidance and teachings.
