You will be accommodated at the Mandali Retreat Center. Mandali is a peaceful retreat center, established on a mountaintop, overlooking Lago d’Orta in Italy. It is an open space dedicated to spiritual practice and personal transformation. Mandali provides an optimal environment to exchange and receive teachings, wisdom, and guidance from some of the world’s most inspiring teachers.

The location is a result of an extended search. When the founders saw the view from the mountain top, it accelerated their hearts. They realized they had found the perfect place. Building this place is their dream and heartfelt intention; to create a place of quiet beauty, to learn, and to relax.

They built the place from scratch. Its architecture is a faithful reflection of the ancient villages by which it is surrounded. The center breathes a soothing, serene atmosphere and offers its guests a guiding hand. You will fall in love with nature, find balance in the elements, and feel harmony with your true self.

Yoga, as taught in the past, was always taught one-on-one. The teacher would assess the needs, aspirations, and constitution of the student and give him or her the personal practice that would connect them to their innermost truth. This innermost truth of the individual is unique to that person and each person’s yoga practice will ultimately be an individual practice guided closely by authentic teachers and teachings.

This retreat will offer you the opportunity to deepen into the yoga that is most suited to your individual needs, and will give you the foundational ground, connection, and steadiness to become a living yogi or yogini. It is an intensive process that will change the way you see your life.

This retreat is called “The Heart” because that is the physical location of your energy and your true self. It is through the heart that you fully open yourselves to develop pure devotion and longing for liberation.

Program outline

During this retreat, Satya and Sahaj will draw from several wisdom traditions to offer you 10 days of practices ranging from asana, pranayama, meditation, healing, Taoist chi-kung, shamanic healing, Buddhism, chanting, rituals, and philosophy.

You will begin exploring and realigning the physical body with the breath, experiencing the connection between the body and mind. You will then be ready to introduce the more subtle body or energy practices. The philosophical ground of practice will be based on the Bhagavad Gita.

You will be using more advanced yoga practices that help to decode, uncover, and in a way, break down the walls of what is keeping you from being aware of your true wisdom nature. This practice will affect the nervous system and this will change the patterns of the energy flow in the body.

You will learn how the energy in the body works, and how the energy, body, and mind are intimately connected. The subtle body is composed of energy pathways called nadis and areas of focused life energy called chakras. When these channels are clear, your awareness is clear like the sky.

Through the deep immersion in the teachings of these very gifted and experienced teachers, in this very special place on the Orta Lake in Italy, you will come out as a different person, with a clearer understanding of yourself, your practice, and your dharma. This retreat will literally open your heart and blow your mind away.

This retreat starts on March 20, and finishes on March 29, 2018. You have to plan to arrive on March 20 around 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., so be ready at 3:00 p.m. to start the retreat. The retreat will end on March 29, 2018 in the morning after practice around 9:00 a.m. Breakfast will then be served and you'll have time afterwards to pack and empty your rooms. All rooms have to be emptied by 11:30 a.m.


You need to have an established yoga self-practice of more than four days per week for a minimum of two years to join this retreat. You should also be familiar with the Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga method and with meditation techniques.

This retreat is part of the advanced studies of the Delight Academy, however it is open to yoga teachers as well as dedicated practitioners of yoga, meeting the above requirements.

Kevin Sahaj
Kevin Sahaj is a dedicated yoga practitioner who has been studying and practicing yoga for 30 years. His approach to teaching is eclectic and draws from many different methods and teachings to help students align their lives towards awakening. His focus is to offer the right method for the individual according to their needs and aspirations. He is the life partner of Katiza Satya and together they are leading the Delight Yoga teacher training and offering guidance in the spiritual direction of the school.

Katiza Satya is a yogini in heart and soul. She is an experienced registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance (E-RYT 500-RYT 500) and licensed to certify students at the 200 and 500-hour levels. Katiza has in depth knowledge of Vipassana and Mindfulness meditation, Ashtanga Vinyasa, Iyengar, Vinyasa, and Yin yoga as a way of life. Her friendly personality, contagious enthusiasm, and warm heart inspire her students to getting the best out of themselves. Katiza Satya leads retreats, workshops, immersions trainings, and courses throughout Europe, Asia, and South America.

Retreat location

The retreat will be held in Quarna Sopra, Italy. Mandali is set 850 meters above sea level, overlooking Lago d’ Orta in Italy, the site faces southeast, enjoying the morning sun rising over the Mottarone mountain range across the lake. The classic feng shui dream of enjoying the inspiration of the sun, lake, and valley in front of you, whilst being supported and protected by the buildings, trees, and gardens behind is a functioning reality at Mandali.

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Milan-Malpensa Airport (MXP). From there, you can get a transfer to Mandali, which will only take about 60 minutes.
