The teacher training at Yogalinda is directed toward anyone who is interested in exploring the essence of yoga and refine their practice both for personal enrichment and for becoming a yoga teacher. The course is very practical, you will have ample time to practice teach and learn how to create your own vinyasa sequences safely. This teacher training follows the standards of Yoga Alliance. When the course is completed you will hold a 200-hour certified yoga instructor license and be able to teach both hot yoga and regular temperature yoga in any yoga studio in the world.

Typical day

  • 09:00 - 12:30 Hot yoga practice, pranayama and meditation, theory
  • 12:30 - 14:00 Lunch
  • 14:00 - 17:00 Theory, practice, and teaching

Every day during the training, you will start with a hot vinyasa asana practice with pranayama breathing for about 1.5 - 2 hours. This would also sometimes include meditation, after which you will have a very short break. From there, you will either go into alignment or theory (philosophy, chakras, Ayurveda, adjustments, anatomy, learning to sequence etc.).

The first 2 weeks are more on theory and practicing different types of yoga like yin and restorative. The final 2 weeks of the training are more on practice teaching where you learn how to sequence Vinyasa classes, practice teaching with blocks, straps, and blankets, learn how to adjust students, how to deal with injuries and variations of postures, as well as prenatal and acro yoga.

When time allows Heather also covers yoga for sports athletes and Lezanne and Morgan discuss Yoga as therapy when discussing health concerns. There are generally 6 teachers on each course with Lezanne and Heather providing a real yin and yang approach to teaching Yoga. Lezanne is often called Mother Earth, her knowledge in philosophy and biomechanics and pretty much any topic of yoga you could think of is astounding. While Heather provides the more practical, business side of teaching yoga as her background before yoga was in sales and marketing. Heather is also a yoga business coach so any questions regarding your future careers she will be happy to help in any way she can.

There are 2 tests. The first is a written theory test. The 2nd is a 60 - 75-minute test where you teach and create your own hot vinyasa sequence, adjusting students and using props. You will have an opportunity to practice teach your 60min sequence before the final exam.

After you complete this course you will feel confident to be able to teach your friends and family with ease.

Heather Anderson
Heather began practising Hot yoga in Toronto, Canada 15 years ago. The love of the Spanish language brought Heather to Spain in 2006. After several stressful years in sales in a crisis market, Heather decided to follow one of her lifelong dreams to become a certified yoga instructor. She was lucky to have been trained under Baron Baptiste (Baptiste Power Hot yoga), Ted Grand (Moksha Hot yoga), Bikram Yoga, Rodney Yee, Alex Leikermoser a.k.a. yogagurl, and the Tribe yoga instructors, Scarlett and Raquel. Heather is certified in teaching Vinyasa and Prenatal yoga.
Mike Brassey
Mike has been practicing and teaching meditation in Spain, Portugal, and England for the last 20 years. He has studied for over 10 years with the Tibetan Lama Geshe Kelsang as a Buddhist monk and is currently a student of Eckhart Tolle - author of the bestseller The Power of Now. He is known for his ability to convey the teachings in a clear and practical way. His presence is an inspiration to those who want to begin or deepen their experience of meditation and inner peace.
Lezanne
Yoga Alliance RYT 500 (Ashtanga Yoga)
Lezanne is a certified yoga teacher (RYT 500) through Yoga Arts and has completed a 40 hour Astanga teachers training with Caroline Klebl. Lezanne has also finished a 9-month Anatomy Teacher Training course through Leslie Kaminoffs The Breathing Project, as well as completed Sadie Nardinis Core Strength Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training.
Julia
Julia Zatta is a yoga teacher and bodyworker specialized in teaching anatomy to yoga teachers. Embodiment plays a big part in her life, her practice, and in her personal research into how to be more fully present, joyful and alive. Her initial yoga training was in Anusara yoga, though in recent years she has fallen in love with Ashtanga yoga. She had the privilege to study with world-renowned teachers in the Ashtanga yoga lineage like Dena Kingsberg and Richard Freeman who have instilled in her a rich sense of the depths of yoga.

Yogalinda is located in a very relaxing and safe area, just a few minute's walk to the beach. Their studio has bamboo floors and wide windows to allow light to come in. They also have lockers, showers and changing rooms in the vicinity.
