Yogaji’s program can be viewed in Yoga Alliance page under Durga-Ji yoga. Yogaji follows the standard of Yoga Alliance and enriches it through their experience.
The schedule may be modified if necessary and is just a guideline. Every week there will be one day off.
During the course, they will encourage you to read the four classical texts of Hatha yoga, which they will provide as a gift and which are short and easy to go through. You will have days off and time to read. These texts are Gheranda Samhita, Yoga Upanishads, Hatha Yoga Pradipika, and the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.
At the end of the course you will enjoy having a written exam, that will test your knowledge about the teaching and is a prerequisite for certification.
You will be hosted in a small group of houses. They have a big garden where some will sleep in a wooden hut, others in tent, and finally some more in dorms in the stone house. The food is daily prepared by those who are in the food seva. They change the seva regularly so that everyone has the chance to feed his friend one day. The meals are always a vegetarian (which implies no animal) meal, as it is very important to practice compassion with animals by not harming them, and to control one's own desire to eat meat especially for a teacher of yoga. Ahimsa-non violence means to accept not to kill a living being so to feed oneself. The food is always great, tasty, and lovely. You will be invited to share a mantra before the lunch so to celebrate this moment.
